In the first few weeks, you should wake a baby if they don’t wake up in 4hours. Usually babies will wake up by 4hrs but some situations make babies more sleepy...like jaundice. I’ve admitted many babies with dehydration because “never wake a sleeping baby”. I absolutely agree with introducing bottles early if you plan to do both. And I encourage both... because of the reasons you’ve stated. I’ve had too many moms getting “stuck” with a baby that won’t feed from a bottle. I’ve had moms in tears because they haven’t been able to leave their baby in months. I’ve never seen nipple confusion.

This is such a great video! I hope it helps a lot of mamas out there. Thanks for filming this. I’m a breastfeeding mama of nearly a year, and am so proud of that due to how difficult it was in the beginning. This video really consolidated a lot of the information I found on the internet during the first few months.

Timing really is amazing! Thank you so much for starting off the video with everything you said! I’m ending my breastfeeding journey and struggling with feelings of sadness that my baby no longer needs me in the same way. I really needed to hear everything you said! It was all the reassurance I needed as we are weaning. As a breast feeding mom, I completely agree with everything you said! Thank you so much for making these videos and providing people with accurate information. I’m also a nurse and find that a lot of you tube videos are not accurate.

Breastfeeding was SO stressful for me...I managed to do it for 9.5 months, but MAN was it the hardest part of parenting for me. I had supply issues, and he was teeny tiny and needed a lot to get up to speed. Thankfully he took a bottle right away, but the pressure and mom guilt that this is something I "can do if I want to, I just need to put in the work" made me feel SO GUILTY and it's absurd. I had medical reasons that my milk struggled, and I still fell under this pressure. At 9.5 months my sweet boy was waking up 5-6 times a night, and I was going several days on literally no sleep until I'd ultimately just crash, and it was so dangerous and unhealthy. I wish I would have stopped listening to the mom-guilting army and listened to my body more...I'm so damn proud of what I was able to do, but man...You are amazing for doing this video!

I love that you bring up lip and tongue ties!!!! Our daughter had them and they went undiagnosed. However with our son he also had a lip tie but was diagnosed almost immediately! That’s one reason I love our pediatrician because he caught it super early and he actually diagnoses them so much he now does them in his office.

Thank you so much!!! With my first baby, I had no idea what I was doing breastfeeding wise. I thought it would all come naturally to me but I was very wrong. I always felt so guilty for not doing more research about it because my breastfeeding journey with him was not what I had hoped it would be. I am pregnant again and promised myself I would do the proper research this time around and have a better experience with my new baby. This video was sooooo helpful. It's so easy to get overwhelmed with all the information you read on the internet..but this simplified it..and I actually feel like I have a good grasp on what I should do and how I can give my body the best chance to have the breastfeeding journey I dream of. Thank you!!

My first i breastfeed for 3 days I was very overwhelmed and knew nothing my hospital didn’t help me and neither did drs. My second I breastfeed for 5 weeks but I supplemented with supplemental formula and it caused a lot of digestive issues I think plus she had a lip tie and tongue tie they clipped her tongue tie but they didn’t want to do her lip tie till she was 6 months old so I ended up just giving up. I’m trying to figure out everything I can before I have this baby so I can be successful and this video taught er me a lot of what I didn’t know about pumping and freezing milk

Great video, very informative! I have a 3 month old and an oversupply. I’ve getting clogs left and right in my right breast. Massaging it while pumping with a back massager releases my clogs pretty quickly. I put a bit of Honest all purpose balm on first so the massager glides more easily. Also, the Legendairy Milk Sunflower Lecithin has been a game changer, I only recently got it, but since taking it I haven’t been getting clogs. I also have the Milkies Freeze, I love that thing!

My son was born 6 weeks early due to emergency c section so I couldn't breastfeed right away. My milk supply came in 4 days pp. But because he was preemie, so I had to pump for the first 2 weeks pp. After that I could breastfeed. But because my son was bottle fed breast milk for his first 2 weeks. I had to go to a lactation consultant to help him latch. But now he is 9 months old and latches great! And he also drinks bottles of breast milk.

❤❤❤ Thank you! This just put my heart at ease from the beginning of this video 😢😢. I really thought I was starving him. But I calmed myself and stuck it out. People please dont downplay our husbands. My husband was a great support to me. ❤❤ At least have someone to talk to. Immediately I realized I am doing a good job when u pulled out the hakka😂😂 Thank you

I want to say thank you so much for making this video. I am having my 4th baby in November as well. and i do plan on breastfeeding this baby as well as i have tried breastfeeding my other 3 when babys. I always struggle with my milk supply and i believe after watching this video i feel like i am ready to try again and give it my all. it can be so confusing when breastfeeding just because you can be told to do it this way or that way but i believe your method may just help me out. Thanks again for the video. i saved it so i can come back later to freshen my brain.
