My personal winner in this trio is for sure the Zenith. Simply beautiful and by far the best movement.

That Zenith with the different colour subdials and exhibition caseback does it for me! Form factor is great for me and they subtly trolled Rolex as well by making them available to actually purchase at retail price!

By far the Zenith El Primero. It’s movement is stunning! Breitling is also nice, but I don’t really like the Daytona: it’s too overpriced even at the AD level. Good work Jenny. Congrats from one of your Spanish fans 👍👍👍

In reality, the chronomat looks even better! Wanted to buy an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch but the Chronomat looked so beautiful and significant that I ended up buying it instead.

Zenith Chronomaster Sport all the way. Sorry but Rolex lost out on this one. King of Chrono always wins!

Out of the three I’d go with the Zenith. Just such a good looking watch with a sophisticated gorgeous movement too. Despite the chunkiness and inferior clasp.

If I was to win a watch and my choice was between those three I would definitely pick the Rolex...... then sell it and buy a Zenith.😇

Zenith hands down the winner. The chrono can be immediately used, no screw down pushers. It’s more legible in the sub dials. And you get a date display. And a see through back . And it’s available.

As a Breitling fan boy, I have the Chronomat, amongst many others. The brand that put a chronograph into a wristwatch after all. I would love the Zenith, the movement is stunning and I love the design. I would, and have in the past (before the price hype) turned down the Daytona. Not because it's a bad watch, but more because of the sort of attention it attracts and the sort of folk that value it for the price rather than the watch itself.

Oh man, I really want to get myself one of those Zenith El Primeros; They're so nice.

Breitling for its design by a mile. The other two's designs are all old and tired and boring. The Chronomat design is fresh, modern, and COOL!

The El Primero is the best looker that's for damned sure.

The Zenith is only 13,3mm thick!! ;) They say it’s 14mm think in the website but it’s less indeed. Measured by myself. I got one and it’s not that chunky. I’m partial but Zenith wins! 😜

The zenith is so beautiful in so many aspects. From its 1mm larger sIze than daytona that makes it a better fit for bigger wrists, date feature that is helpful, 10 sec rotation that's more accurate, and beautiful open back case. I especially like the white dial with its contrasting black and blue subdial. Colorful without being busy. Add to all these the mid pricing makes the zenith the clear, indisputable winner for me

Zenith all the way, easy call since you cant actually buy the Rolex.

Great breakdown of 3 beautiful watches. For the Breitling, while the Chronomat name was introduced in the 1940's, the aesthetic of this watch is more inspired by the revival of the Chronomat in 1982. The rouleaux braclet that the 2020 piece reinterprets was introduced with the 1980's model.

When my AD offered me a Daytona years ago. I was all "doesn't it require a waiting list?" They were like, "no no, it's okay." I didn't realize it's because I had bought several watches from them already. I feel stupid.

Between them, I think I would choose the Daytona. Though I often don’t mind “chunkiness”, I find that sleeker, streamlined watches just feel better on my wrist. Though I do appreciate that the Breitling case looks reinforced around the crown and pushers, places where chrono cases tend to wear-out and leak. Unfortunately, my Jenni size wrists won’t hold the Chronomat well. Things that I look for in a chronograph: 1. Durable movement- I think the 7750 has spoiled me, but this movement just keeps working and stays accurate. 2. Dial legibility- Especially when using the chronograph function, I find I appreciate the details applied in order to achieve this, especially since I prefer smaller, slimmer watch cases. I think legibility is a reason the Omega Speedmaster has such a timeless design. Unfortunately for me, it achieves this legibility with a very large dial, with a consequent wide case that doesn’t fit my wrists.

Imo the zenith crushes the other two. Better aesthetics and when you turn them over the zenith delivers the knock out blow.

Breitling for me. Great and beautiful movement. Date window. Manly size. Unique and very comfortable bracelet and usable bazel.

Once you've seen it, you can't un-see the fact that the Daytona left and right lugs are not the same width.

I'm not usually a fan of dual tone watches but that Breitling in dual tone looks fantastic. The gold really pops on the bullet bracelet. I'm a big Breitling fan boy but that Zenith is just a stunning watch and would be my choice. Daytona comes third for me but I'd bite the hand off a dealer if I could get one so I could sell it and buy the other two.

I'd pick the Zenith all day everyday. It stunned me when it just came out and it still does today. Perfect design.

This is a great guide for people like me who’s is still starting to collect watches and what suits me.

I have had the Chronomaster Sport for a few weeks now. I agree, the clasp is definitely not up to Rolex or Omega standards, but frankly, the bracelet is off the watch in the box. I'm wearing it on a sailcloth strap, which suits it very well. When I was wearing it on a bracelet, while I own the right tool, I found a wooden toothpick works wonders for the micro adjustment and is less likely to scratch the polished sides on the claps if I am a bit shaky.

Hi Jenni, I'm wearing my Rolex Daytona 116500LN white dial as I write this. I love how this watch wears. It disappears on the wrist because it is so comfortable, and when I do look down to check the time, I find myself looking at it again and again to admire it. I do sometimes wish that the pushers were not screw down so I could time something NOW, rather than 5 seconds from now. I also sometimes wish there was a date, but NOT in the 4:30 position (I hate all watches with the date at that spot). 6:00 in the running seconds sub-dial would be good, or maybe replace all that unneeded text below the ROLEX at 12:00 with the date. I paid retail for the Daytona when it came out, and I am dumbfounded by the prices people are asking for it now. If I were in the market for a chronograph today, I would seriously consider the Zenith, because this Rolex supply/demand mismatch is getting out of hand.

This video came out two weeks early, the best one is the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono panda. The Rolex made case plus the powerful Breitling made mouvement at $5k? That’s the winner of the chrono battle.

If I was in the market for a new chronograph it would be the Zenith, it looks different with the three different coloured sub dials and has that 1/10th second counter that looks fantastic in use. I love the Daytona as well if I could get one. The Breitling does not really call to me, I'm sure it's a fantastic watch and a great bracelet and maybe if the other two were not around I may talk a look but there are others out there at this price that would also have to be considered. It's great to see if the reviewed watches pass the IBWC approval, you really started something there.

Breitling is the best for me.

It’s the Zenith for me, great sub dial arrangement . If they dropped the date , would make for a less cluttered design and it could hopefully make a thinner case a possibility. I’m not going to buy a 15mm thick watch, it’s the reason a don’t have a Tudor GMT.

I recently bought an Aquastar Deepstar and absolutely love this watch . The quality is excellent and is fairly priced . Who doesn't love the Rolex Daytona , but the price is definitely up there .

Great video, really enjoyed this. I’m in the market for a new piece and have been considering the Zenith. I’m completely new to Zenith. The Zenith (to me in my inferior knowledge) seems to offer the most sophisticated movement and is very well made. The Rolex is first and foremost (lets face it) an indicator of wealth. Undoubtedly a great watch but I’m pretty sure most people buy it because its a Rolex Daytona rather than for the mechanical quality of it. The Breitling is a great watch with enough brand prestige to satisfy most people. I have a Navitimer and with the exception that it removes a layer of skin from my fingers when I wind it (!!) its a great watch.

Jenni - love your videos. How many chronos can you own? I've recently added to my collection (of 6 watches) a Breitling Navitimer Chrono with the B01 movement, and a Zenith Defy El Primero 21 on the blue alligator band. Both rotate on my wrist with a vintage Submariner. Can't see spending the money on a Daytona. But I'm super impressed with the Zenith technology. Therefore the purchase of the Defy. An analog watch with a 1/100th second timer? Nobody needs it, but it shows off the technology they're creating. Bravo.

Ever since I read the story of how the ElPrimero was hidden in a n attic as Zenith went out of business, and was later recovered by one of it's designers, and put into production, it has been at the top of my list.

The Zenith, it’s more exciting to look at. For me it’s not following the crowd.

Did anyone else notice the “Hour” on the Daytona bezel is messed up? The middle part of the O and U. My WG Oysterflex version also had this QC issue, but at least RSC took care of it.

Great video as always, Jenni, but I have a suggestion. It would have been really nice if you went into more detail about the movements of these watches. For example, I am almost certain that the Daytona has featured a vertical clutch for some time now but have no idea about the other two. As for the watches themselves, I prefer the Zenith out of the bunch but I don't understand why the chrono minute register goes up to 60 minutes instead of 30. IMO this makes it far less legible.

I'd pick the Breitling.

I have the Blue Zenith El Primero Flyback, and it’s outstanding. It’s the most accurate timepiece I own, only losing seconds per year. Fit and finish are amazing, and stunning in person.

The Zenith looks gorgeous. The only thing I don't like about it is the date window. Completely unnecessary. Otherwise a really attractive watch.

Great Video Jenni. Glad to see the smart watch ditched in this video ;) The Breitling is easily obtained on gray market for around $5,000 brand new. Great value over the other two. You'll pay $30k to get the Daytona. Or you can buy an Omega seamaster, and an Omega Speedmaster Racing w/white dial (better than daytona anyways), and still have $15,000 left over to play with.

I have four chronos; I just love timing things. They're all powered by Valjoux 775* movements of some sort, which is a thick movement but I've become accustomed to wearing miniature hockey pucks on my wrist. Legibility is the most important thing for me in a chronograph. I like the chrono hands to really stand out from the dial(s) and from the other hands. And while I know it's blasphemous to say this, I can't stand tachymeter bezels. They're just above telemeter bezels in usefulness, and I can't remember the last time I had to time thunderclaps or the soundwaves from bombs I was dropping. Give me a nice countdown or GMT bezel any day.
