In this video, I rank EVERY Ermac costume in Mortal Kombat history, beginning with Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and ending with his most recent appearance in Mortal Kombat 1.
My rankings are based on my personal sentiments on each design. Some may disagree, which is excellent! I enjoy having these conversations with anyone who agrees or disagrees with my opinions!

idk i think its about gear, i think it was idea from the start and that unmasked was just story look, maybe we get “unmasked” gear but i think mask was always gonna be there

His default in MKX was good for me. I can appreciate his mouth being revealed since he's free of Shao Kahn's clutches. Kinda liberating him. So it makes sense.

I’m sad that we will probably never get his MK11 design. It’s perfect for his new good/hero redemption story/role that his bio heavily implies especially at the last line with him searching for something to fight for since now he’s no longer bound to Quan Chi.

Ever since Deception the "spider symbol" on his front body (and other parts of his body as well) has become a main trope on his design and so on for his appearance in later game (i like it) MK D, SM, A, 9&alt: the red strap on his black clothing MKX: the metal thingy on his chest MK11: the red metal on his body M1K: his metal ornament on his chest and one hanging around his waist Like Scarecrow from DC his "rope neck" has become a thing for him on his design, but back then it wasn't Also Ermac MK9 klassic outfit is not MK2, its MK1 cause his wearing a clothing mask not a Hockey mask

i actually like MKX skins the most, to me he feels even more menacing without bandages covering his mouth and pharaoh skins just does it for me aswell as i like Egypt a lot

Great list. Not to nitpick, but his Klassic skin in MK9 is based off of the original Mortal Kombat. Not MK2.

I will use the maskless variation in MK1. I think totally opposite of Ermac costumes. I hate the booooring red ninja design, I am glad to see they follow the "mummy" look in MK1.

Personally I actually really like ermac’s mkx default design but I will say that the more exposed face does not do it for me and would’ve preferred his face be all covered, his covered face usually gives a more mysterious feeling to him, at least for me

I remember being so overwhelmingly happy when Ermac made the roster for MKX, but for some reason I just didn't play him that much when the game released. (The costumes may have been a part of this) I definitely felt his absence in MK11 (made worse by the GOAT costume being wasted on a corpse) and the MK1 KP reveal was beyond rough. Now that things are back on track though, I feel pretty confident about the future. If and when DLC starts recieving extra content, the UMK3 costume is guaranteed (although whether or not he's human or shrivelled remains to be seen). I of course want the MK11 look as well - my only hope is that they're open to reusing the MK11 asset like they've done for some of their kameo fighters (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Frost, etc)

Through out the mk franchise of Ermac, the best costume I like is MK Deception first outfit, MK 9 primary costume but the alt is the the absolute best one, MKX Crimson Ermac and MK11 is a next best look (even when other said that the mk11 Ermac designs are quote on quote "OverDesigned" but idrc tbh), and that outfit is definitelythe GOAT lol. The best thing I like about the MK11 Ermac design is that they didn't make him into a mummy (which im not really a fan look), I've always like like mask one because thats was best suits him on... majority of his appearance if that makes sense considering the fact that he's a red ninja pallet swap of the other ninjas. Also Red and Black is my favorite color so that's probably why Ermac is kinda my favorite character lol Ps. l think you ment to say 2006 of Mortal kombat armageddon and appears in the next game 5 years later after armageddon. But It's fine, people makes mistakes. My bad on nitpicking on what you said

The MK11 thing is a lot of mess. I disagree with a lot of your good tier. The base X makes sense because Shang Tsung filled a vessel with souls. It's not like it's an actual person.

There’s technically two other costumes for him in MK1. They both appear briefly in the story, but are still worth a mention.

@@FAiRWAYx Again, it’s extremely briefly. But if you look it up, you’ll undoubtedly find them. Just search up “MK1 Ermac Order Of Darkness” and you’ll find both of them. Interloko datamined one of the skins, giving you a better look.

I think the pharaoh version was sick too. A lot of people hated it but it was pretty fitting haha. Also reptiles creature from the black lagoon skin was dope too

I thought the MKX costumes were fantastic. Personally, I don't mind more of his face being exposed. Obviously I prefer a mask but I don't think the wraps are a bad thing. He had been pale like a corpse in deception and on so I had no problem with him looking like a corpse possessed by a thousand souls (that's pretty much what he is, after all) and his costume seemed to be heavily inspired my both costumes in MK9. The mummy costume made total sense with him obviously being mummy-like already so I had no problem with his silly Halloween costume being an undead pharaoh/mummy. It all made sense to me. I'm the end though, the MK1 design with the mask has got to be my absolute favorite with the MK11 one close behind

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that mummy look is complete trash. I remember going from his classic MK1 & MK2 costumes on MK9 to seeing that garbage on MKX and I was disgusted. They drastically changed a lot of the characters from how they looked in MK9 also which pushed me away from the game

I blame MK legacy for starting the trend on him having the ugly undead zombie/mummy look that would eventually ruin his design in MKX and MK1. I loved his hero ninja skins during the 3D era and his alt in MK9 with hooded ninja/assassin look. I was very upset that he wasn’t legitimately playable Shaolin monks and again in MK11 where he finally got a proper look only to be not playable 😑 Also his Klassic ninja skin in MK9 is not based on MK2 but actually the original MK1 arcade ninja skins. Lastly even though the addition of Ermac getting a mask for his default skin in MK1 is great it still doesn’t fix all the issues the overall costume has with him showing too much skin, being a bit skinny, given the open toe/feet treatment and being hairless. Also I do agree with your tier list except for the Shaolin monks design. Here’s to hoping Ermac becoming a hero again based on his new bio and story going forward.

Bro, you screwed up so much in this vid. Armageddon came out in 2006, not 2007. Ermac’s klassic skin in mk9 was an mk1 skin NOT an mk2 skin like you said. Get your stuff right bro.
