I can say that I am a minimalist in terms of organising my computer. All my files are always organized. I don't know why i hate messy desktop😶 I already follow almost everything he said. Time to work on Bookmarks and download folder.😉

To go even more minimalist: 1. You can hide the recycle bin from my desktop (go Settings > Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings) 2. Pin most-used apps to the taskbar and occasionally-used apps to the Start menu. Do a factory reset as well to delete all leftover files. It is extreme but a sure-fire way to clean up the computer. It is safer to do nowadays as account data are stored in the cloud. Just make sure you save your files externally first and note the setting changes you have made! I didn't know how much it was slowing my laptop down and now it is as fast as when I first purchased it. Love the video as always; they keep getting better and better! 👍

Important stuff like personal photos, documents can be moved to the cloud. So the computer remains only for work and productivity. For gaming, I keep only 2-3 games on the disk, I play new games only when I have finished the ones I have already downloaded.

I agree, as a minimalist my two nemesis' are my computer and my handbag. It's a constant struggle to keep them clean and/or organized. But living a minimalist life is always a work in process. You're always having to keep an eye on clutter that creeps into your space. And to be truthful, I dont mind. Or I would have nothing to do all day but sit and watch at a clean house...for the rest of my eternity 😄

On the bookmarks bar, if required, I rename the bookmark (as often the default is too long or not useful) and then arrange them alphabetically by dragging them into position as this makes them easier to quickly find.

If you want to save some articles to read later I recommend you to use Instapaper! It's very minimalistic and it removes all ads and other distarctions from the article. You can also organize your articles to different folders there. And if you want to be even less distracted you can easily remove the whole taskbar from the settings.

Fello subscribers who find it difficult to set up a file management system everytime they start a new project. I'd recommend you the Windows Software POST HASH. It helps you create folder templates in the Tree structure mentioned in thr video. You can find YT tutorials to use the app... Do give it a try, it is definitely worth it.

How To Keep A Minimalist Computer (Summary) 1. Treat your Desktop and Download folder as your temple. Find every file a home. 2. Name files and organize folders regularly with the Tree Structure Method. 3. Keep the taskbar as simple as possible with only frequently used programs. 4. Declutter bookmarks. 5. Remove useless browser extensions. 6. Keep tabs clean. Once done with a tab, close it right away. 7. Disable auto startup. 8. Perform Disk Cleanup regularly. 9. Delete old just-in-case files from all storage. (Internal drives, external drives, and cloud storage) 10. “Move out” from your computer. Back up important files you truly need, then reformat your computer.

Honestly, my computer is more organised than my life. I arrange files in folders within folders, have them named alphabetically or according to the year or topic and clean up useless files atleast once a month (having less space can be really helpful). I should do that more frequently, especially on my phone, because I take a lot of screenshots and download a lot of pictures.
