I've found no who shows as much knowledgeable content for the Headrush as Nathan does!

No other source I've found about the Headrush is as in depth as Doc's. If you own the Pedalboard or Gigboard you're definitely missing out if you haven't gone through his library of videos.

It ist just a pleasure to watch your videos - pragmatic, easy to understand yet they show all the bits and pieces you have to know. You also show how easy it is to dial in a proper sound in comparison to the Helix. Jason Sadites videos are great, but man, that is a lot of know how and work to dial in a certain tone!

This is very helpful. I messed around with the Helix at the store and I hated how much hassle it was to do simple functions. I didn't even know this pedalboard existed, and now I'm confident to hop in when I pick one up.

Question. If you wanted to have a reverb hall effect wash out while you tune, can you do that? Or does tuner cut the tail immediately?

Wow again! Now i know why you are the Doctor. What an amazing video. Diagnosis: my Zoom G6 cannot handle all that I want to accomplish with my music. Time to move up to Headrush. Thank you for a really complete and eye opening tutorial showing what a Class A pedalboard can do. It is exactly what I need. So if the boss approves...guess who that is.... and if I get a new unit online I will use your link...especially since you have laid out so many videos for this product. Thanks again and I'll be back. :)

I'm using a Mooer GE200 while I save my pennies for a Headrush, but I have to say, you have the best videos I've seen on the unit. Plus a lot of the tips along the way translate to any digital unit.

Exactly correct. I teach concepts that can be applied to ANY guitar setups. Give me a Helix, Axe FX or anything else and I can make it sound good. And now hopefully others can as well.

Awesome tutorial. I think you may have persuaded me to plunk down a grand for this baby. It really is an awesome board. I heard you mention version 2.1 in the video. I can only imagine it has gotten better now that they’re up to 2.3. I’ve been looking at all the multi effects pedals and I really feel if the tones are good and there are enough IR’s this is a really great buy for the price. I don’t think the Helix is as user-friendly and easy to navigate as this pedal. And I love how almost everything in a rig is assignable and named automatically. Thanks for your time in making the video and showing people how easy this beast is to use. Keep on rocking!

1st rule of Headrush: Set the gate threshold to -120dB i.e. as low as it'll go. You'll keep all the subtleties of your playing. And anyway, you should hear the noise coming from an actual cranked up Plexi. It's rock and roll. Live with it!

Hey, this is quite probably the best video on the headrush! Very informative, insightful. I am debating whether to get this pedalboard or the Line 6 Helix Floor. Have you ever done a review of the Line 6 Helix Floor or Helix LT? If so, which one do you like better in terms of sounds that more resemble the amplifier models? Thank you for posting this.

Angel Martinez they both sound similar. I like the workflow of the Headrush.

The Headrush amp models sound more realistic to a tube or valve amp than the Helix LT from what I heard, but the Helix has better sounding effects.

Great video. I was thinking of upgrading from the gigboard to the pedalboard. However, I bought quite a few preset patches for the gigboard. If I upgrade to the pedalboard will the patches I bought for the gigboard still work on the pedalboard. I assume they will because the architecture is the same except for the foot switches. Your thoughts?

spada60 rigs work the same on both units.

Fantastic video Doc! As always you are top shelf when it comes to the Headrush! One question though, does the HR have a setting similar to the sag and bias in the Helix? This is the one thing I wish the HR had and it might be in there and I just dont know where or what it is!

KevinIsIn5623 I think the Headrush reproduces the sag naturally in the amp models. It’s baked into the sound. Less parameters to fiddle with makes it easier to dial in a great tone much faster.

Really informative video. I have recently got a gigboard and figuring out how to use it and would be great if you could do a similar video on that. One thing I am trying to understand is how to load IR’s and can’t find any detailed step by step information for a novice laying out which Hz, which file to put them in, how to sync properly with a Mac, and how and where to load third party presets. Thank you for this great video 👍🏻

@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Aren't a lot of the features on your tutorial applicable to the gigboard except for the switches of course as the gigboard only has 4 but I assume some of the tutroial on the pedalboard switches can be applied to the gigboard. Yes or No?

@@spada60 Yes of course. The only difference is I like to use Rig view on the Gigboard and just have different variations to switch between. I don't really worry about scenes on the Gigboard.

i'm new to headrush pedalboard and i saw all your presentation and they are very helpfull . I ve a question , if want to connect the pedalboard to poweramp like seymour duncan powerstage 170 with extra cabinet do i have to make patches with only the amps and without cabs sims or amps and cabs sims on the pedalboard???? thanks

hi, i have a question. I get an annoying computer-like sound when I connect my headrush to the amp via mono output? do you have any idea? I also have the signal when I remove the amp module and cabinet, even when I adjust in signal and out signal. even with an empty patch I keep the sound. is it return? I don't have it with the headphone jack

No. You must have the headrush connected to a computer.

Thanks for putting this together. Clears up a few things for me. But here's a question. If all your rigs are pushing the headroom, barely into the yellow of the rig output, how do you deal with punching a boost for a lead that needs to cut through the mix? TIA!

Chroma flage I try to keep my rig volume 3 bars below zero for this very reason.
