i just recently bought the 12.9 ipad for school and i also have a macbook air that i got a year ago that has helped a lot being in college requires me to use it for every class and i bought the ipad for digital note taking so hopefully it works like i want it too. your videos have been very helpful

I think both is the best, currently have a MBP but also plan to get an iPad soon. I’m studying both computer science and engineering and after using the MacBook for the past 6 months I can see it’s limitations. Because I’m studying computer science a lot there is a lot of life coding and lectures usually share there screen. since I take notes at the same time as watching the lecture split screening an entire desktop to the size of a phone screen is a little too small to read so I can definitely see sidecar to be a useful feature. Also with the engineering side there are some maths and content based subjects where you can’t type stuff out unlike comp sci. I struggled to find a balance between a paper workflow and digital workflow. I also find that if stuff is on paper, I probably never look over it again. So I think an iPad would help with that

the MacBook Air M1 doesn’t have a fan, so it isn’t loud! Alsoooo, it doesn’t really get hot + it’s result lightweight !! I’ve been using it with my iPad for 3 weeks now, and can confidently say that they both work SO PERFECTLY together!! if you can afford it, go for a MacBook Air M1 + an iPad with an Apple Pencil or a stylus :)

The battery life is superb, the landscape camera is a winner for me, the shape is suitable for my carrying case. As part of my purchase, I threw in a case from ESR, and a Logitech Crayon to compliment my purchase. So far so good on my iPad. The Logitech Crayon works perfectly with it as well.

I definitely think you shouldn’t just have an iPad bc of the software limitations. If you’re going to get one you should get a laptop. Tablets are great but laptops can just do more but it also depends on what you need them for

My opinion is it depends on major . Like some need laptops to program etc so priority is to get a laptop maybe then an iPad . But other majors ( if you don’t program ) the iPad is enough it was docs,slides word etc and note taking abilities

I myself use a Android Tablet for taking notes and maybe watching some YT/Disney Plus here and there. It´s a cheap one i bought for 160 Euro. Also i use my Computer at Home (with Win10) for writing longer texts or documents, gaming, coding and pretty much everything else.

i have the macbook air m1 that I bought a yr ago but I want to completely stop taking notes on my computer because its takes me a lot longer and the paper notes are just messy so I've decided to get an iPad, I'm getting the 9th gen with 256gb and I'm really excited because not only will my notes hopefully improve ill also get to play genshin impact on it instead of my phone

The option to be most productive is to buy a GRAPHICS TABLET (60 $ or 50 €) and a Laptop. + Powerful shortcuts and programmes + better OS + handwriting notes + shortcuts at the same time => taking notes faster than on an Ipad. + efficient typing + ~ 600 $ for a decent office setup (including pen, mouse, decent laptop).

I have both an iPad and a computer. An iPad will not be a suitable replacement for an actual computer, it is best to have both. But if you really can only get one then invest in a computer. I do use my iPad for things but I stopped using it as much once I was able to get a laptop.

I run a locksmith business with my 2018 6th Gen iPad and it does everything from inventory to invoicing. I use it for my daily living and have found products that help compliment the use. I have a card reader that allows me to use a flash drive, so cards, compact flash cards and even external herd drives so I dont have to take up a lot of space on the iPad itself…after all, it is only 32 gig… I have been able to find 3rd party alternative pencils from JamJake and a flip screen with keyboard from TypeCase and also a 2 way use Bluetooth/wireless mouse for it… I use it everyday. I am not a content creator so this iPad has completely replaced my computer…takes up less space and is way faster to turn on and start…lol

An iPad will never be a full computer for most people, apple showed in wwdc 2021 that they want you to buy a Mac and an iPad with universal control.

Your MacBook is overheating and “sounding like a rocketship” because you have it sat on top of a comforter. You’re making the exhaust system have to push through a thick blanket in order to cool itself. That’s like running a mile while breathing through a comforter. The performance is going to suffer you put it in a counter-productive condition.

I like my iPad, it’s just so reliable and convenient, makes my life easier, and the big screen makes it better. I like taking notes for school in my iPad, with my diy stylus so I can also make my handwriting better, I personally like the iPad over the Mac it’s just better, convenient, and I can write hand written notes!!!! But it’s up to you to decide which you like best!!!

It does not sound even remotely like "rocket sound" computers. And it's only going to overheat I'd you put it on a soft surface like a bed.

You can get laptops where you can hand write on the screen! I have the Asus Flip and you can flip the screen back and hand write with a stylus. But it is a lot heavier than a tablet. I find it’s too good to replace with my iPad or Samsung galaxy tab S7+
