Hi Rob, there’s a product called ‘Evapo-Rust’ by CRC. It’s excellent at removing rust without damaging paintwork and worth considering in my opinion. Great video as always and look forward to your progress.

Rather than using a chemical rust converter you could use 0.0000 wire wool all over, which will remove loose rust and loose paint. It will also matt the remaining paint which can be brought back with T Cut. Then use boiled linseed oil cut thinner with methylated spirit

I have an early 61‘ li125 with the round horncast. They used the round horncast until early 61‘.

I used the MB ringnut spanner once for tightening. And guess what happened. It just sheared off. Now I‘ve got one from Jockeys Boxenstop, which seems to be up with its job.

Forget painting it, leave as is and worth more Rob

Definitely take some of the loose rust off, as for rust killer, it’s a bit strong I would say on a 60 year old frame, try a little bit first. Do the welding before the rust treatment if you are going to use it.

Hi I have used a product called Anchor Wax for patina which works really good this might be an option for you I would definitely look it up 👍

Interesting to see that the running in sticker is in German
