Great video boys. Personally I cut all NY meat at home. And then put 8in a plastic bag, with a bit of flavouring. I hate seeing tins on the banks.

I use the Royal Dane chopped ham and pork, I cut into squares the night before , put it in a plastic bag and add chili powder and salt, then give it a good shake to coat it. It stays on the hair with a standard bait stop with no problems. £1.50 a can from Poundland and b and m.

The reason why the spam is softer in the tin is because it is cooked in the tin during processing. The juices have nowhere to run and so hold into the product. The spam in the plastic is cooked before being packaged as heating up the plastic would simply melt it.

Yes it was good fun to do something not totally tackle focussed. We’d all been using loads of luncheon meat through the summer, especially float fishing, so we thought we’d do a proper test!

Mix whatever e.g chunky dog meat with a pack of gelatine and let it set!! you can add flavours and food dye to colour, you are only limited to your imagination! I found a good one is cooked hempseed, gelatine and black food dye and it works! It takes a bit of practise getting the right consistency with the amount of gelatine but that's all part of the fun and its cheap to buy! Dont forget good old black pudding that works aswell!!

Spam is used for 90% of my Barbel fishing. Normally glugged and frozen to draw in the flavour/colour. Also don’t use square edged baits.
