Backpack Hero Part 16 - a fun one-off episode showing off all the exciting stuff from the new update. New item, new shop interaction, new biome? New build. Let's ditch the weapon and the shield and punch the enemies to death with brass knuckles!

I tried a full spikes/armor build once (was getting roughly 50 spikes per turn) and it seemed like the game accounted for that and gave me a different boss which just summoned/healed/cursed/poisoned instead of directly attacking me. I couldn't kill them since my damage was entirely spikes so I lost.

Unfortunately the wizards cap seems to be a typo. In the past it has always been LOSE one energy, and that probably got mixed up somewhere in the translation updates.

Yea, lose an energy that wand builds don't really use to gain mana regen. Trade 1 energy for 4 mana, a better trade than using a book.

Yeah, I was about to say that the cap was way more broken than I remembered. 1 energy and 4 mana per turn with no real downside would be broken

22:50 the cap actually is -1 energy for 4 mana, visual bug that’s why you only got 2 energy.

@@huang111 It could also be that they were intending it to be +1 energy but they forgot to change it in the code. I could see that balancing the new disabled changes and making it more of a Legendary item.

a space above the helmet doesnt have to be empty and therefore that never worked and still doesnt

There’s a couple bugs in the update. Many items say they do a thing they don’t or a missing parts of their description (wizards cap is meant to say it adds -1 energy) this is a side effect of the new translation system. Also sliding rune is an item meant to be only for an unreleased character and putting it in your backpack will break a lot of things.

The Sliding Rune seem to be a buggy aftereffect of the new character being coded in. If you take it, your sprite is going to change to the new character sorting animation for a few seconds.

Omg it was killing me that you kept passing up the energy wands! Lol +7 energy per turn is a ton of damage. Wow your luck this run was insane! I guess that's what you get for running a build where lucky rings are necessary. 2 duct tapes was hype!

25:35 the sliding rune is actually something from the later update. Never pick it up and use it because it slides all your items into the abyss and destroys it. Another thing is you can pick it up and throw it out and some yellow arrows will appear, you can clik the yellow arrows to get a sneak peek of the new character which is a bird-like creature

I did the math on the last fight. Damage was 26 from scratch (3 base + 1 knuckles + 2 x 11 rings) and 41 per glove (2 base + 39 rage). With four gloves that's 190 total, or 4180 cap with 22 energy. Scratch interestingly does not get bonus damage from rage. Cool run!

25:50 the sliding rune appears to be for another character, and it is ENTIRELY bugged; attempting to use it can glitch out your inventory and prevent you from being able to move any of your items. Stay away from it.

I can confirm the usefulness of multiple hats. I went into one of my hardest course exams in undergrad wearing a stack of 7 hats. Got a perfect score on all three parts of it. An examinational hat trick if you will.

28:35 I'm pretty damn sure it WOULD have triggered multiple times, BEFORE this update. This update changed it so that one attack (i.e. one use of an item) can only trigger an enemy's effect once.

The multiplying rage+claws interaction really carried him. I can't imagine this build works without Spice. Without any rage he's only doing 30ish damage, which is good but I don't think is enough to win. Maybe giving up Berserker's Ring and using armor? Or structures, which he actually had for a while. (I was a little disappointed he never even looked at the Roof.)

i got an OP Archer build! So, here are the main factors to my broken build - I got a manastone bow, witch alows me to pickup some of the mana items - Not long from the start, i got ring of doom. Because all arows are comsidered wepons, i picked it - i've got some healing in backround by bandages, along with a big heart ring, witch allows me to go "naked" - it looked like this: BMA BRA BMA along with other items, where B is for manstone bow, M are manastones, R is the ring of doom and A are the arrows Along with other items, and the stopwatch relic, it got broken fast

This game should add a mechanic where you get holes in your backpack (which takes away blocks) and then you have to sew it or go to a tailor to get the blocks back

@@jorgec98 Subjective, honestly. I highly doubt the man that can repeat almost 10 times the word 'synergy' in under a minute wouldn't at least like to try that out if he knew. It may not be his common strategy, sure, since he is also in for the dopamine given by luck and chance, but I'd bet he'd like to do so once in a while to see how bonkers things can get.

10:15 there's a cut with a fade in and out with another cursor being visible if you pause and go frame by frame, as well as his face being blurry. He save scummed to get the rage artifact. Which would be fine if he was upfront about doing so, but he is not.

Is there a way to get the newer updates? I know you need the downloaded version for that, but the kickstarter is over and steam isnt released. Do I just need to wait?
