This mod shows that scratch could have implemented these a long time ago, except for the few blocks that were really useful that were removed. The blocks could’ve revolutionized scratch, but unfortunately we live in a time where scratch is too easy on their community

The reason the 'move X steps' block, and the ones penguin added, are very important is because it is based on what direction the sprite is facing.

I started using pemgiunmod a few days ago for my private projects but I think the community for scratch is a lot bigger and better. Its probably one of the most underrated mods for scratch

This is huge!!! If the scratch team just used hired them to make 4.0 then scratch development as a whole would change forever!

When I was younger and still figuring out scratch I was like " Why is there no when I ___ event block" eventually I knew how to do it with the if and forever blocks but to this day sometimes I'm tired and I go " Dang where did they put the when ___ block?" But this mod makes it 10x easier on my brain when I'm coding at 3 in the morning.

I specially love the new Rotation Styles, previous costume block and when stop blocks, but also the Switch Blocks (I use those often in GML, thats why and they are really useful) they added! Really liking this sofar.

3:06 the diffrence between 'change x' and 'move steps' is that change x is only gonna change x,no other value,while move can walk diagonally and vertically,based on the direction.

Scratch is definitely better if you're still starting out/practice but once you get good you realize how limiting it is. With penguin mod you can make quite literally anything, I started using it a while ago and I was blown away, try it.

I think scratch addons is definitely is a strong alternative, and also customizable and isn’t it’s own website. Both great scratch additions, just based on personal preference 😀

This is insane and awesome! I feel like I’ll get overwhelmed with everything and go back to regular scratch lol

one thing i really want from a scratch mod is the ability to reliably play a gif or mp4 file. i was gonna make a full on game using turbowarp but discovered it was just extremely inefficient at displaying a gif so i went elsewhere.

Fun fact:The creator of this mod, created a turbowarp extension tweening!(it's that extension with smooth things)

I'm surprised nobody has made anything that is really cool on Penguin Mod, as I checked it out, and personally, it's amazing! I am a bit confused on some of the blocks because they are too complex for me to comprehend, but other than that, I think a lot of people can actually make really good projects in the engine! ....Well, I thought there would be a lot more amazing projects that would revolutionize the internet, but all that I found were weird things people have made (not even that thought out). Pretty disappointing... but I do love the actual program, as it is a really is a big step in block programming! :)

Previous costume actually has an easy way, if you place a set costume to block then put a join block with (previous costume,) as the input Then it works. There is other secret things with list like if you put random into one of them, you don’t need the join block too because it allows you to paste the specific words into it, like infinity or -infinity

switch to costume(previous costume) Requires making “previous costume” costume, setting this, then deleting it. Also can make a costume with a name being a number and switch to that costume to switch to a costume of that index, looping around, so costume(0) is the last one, (-1) second last etc

I might switch to this if it has all of turbowarp’s unsandboxed extensions

There actually was a way to switch to previous costume using the switch costume block, if anyone's wondering, here's how! 1: Get a sprite and make a costume and call it "previous costume" 2: get the "Switch costume to ()" block, and switch it to the previous costume you just made. 3: Now delete the costume, and when you use the block, then it'll switch to the previous costume. Which means, scratch actually HAS a previous costume function, which could probably be in scratch 4.0. (if it ever comes out if you know what i mean.)

The "return" block in My Blocks is used at the end of a define custom block script to convert it into a custom reporter/boolean.

13:13 "drawing triangles in scratch is a big thing" no it isn't all you have to do is: 1: select the rectangle tool and press shift and drag to draw a perfect square 2: pick the reshape tool 3: remove one of the corners by double-clicking it 4: rotate by 45 degrees by pressing shift until the tip is pointing up 5: resize it to your liking done 👍
