That's actually very true in his stories, in automata 9s and A2 kill for their own reasons. In the book Nier automata YorHa boys, the founder of the council of humanity killed every android one of the bunkers including the Android who was his creator and mentor, who lied to him about being able to be an individual and live happily, he was actually just another unit to send to die, and that all androids are just like the machines, this drove him mad and he killed all of his fellow androids mercilessly, and forced the moon base to infinitely produce androids, and send out fake broadcasts, and this lie would forever give the androids a reason to keep fighting, to give them a god to worship, one that doesn't exist. It's insane that the story is so good, even in book form it's just as amazing, btw i only mentioned the prologue, the actual story is a about an experimental male only Android squadron that go through hell together, some hate each other, or are in love with each other, they die together, and their memory is reloaded with no memory of their death. And the healer Android is the most compassionate and pure of heart, but never goes into battle and has to carry that sort of burden with him, that he'll never be able to feel like he's truly giving his all, he's safe, while all his friends experience the pain of death, and all he can do is watch. That sort of position cana drive even the most kind soul to madness.

Thank you soooo much for this video. Waht Yoko Taro said in the end of this video is actually what makes me love Nier Automata. I am not much with games but I was in my childhood (2001-2005). One day by chance I Played NieR Automata. It feels good to play NieR. It's my memories now. Even still while writing this I feel joy of knowing NieR Automata. I hope one day when I become adult.
