Seriously, I don't hear enough talk about how Harlan was like Victor's son or, at least, someone who he was willing to accept as his son. I expected this to be the moment where Victor loses it but he doesn't and it honestly seems as if it really didn't impact him that much. I don't know. I've heard that some people with trauma either let it out with anger (like Victor in s1 and s2) or, if they can't, they just shut down. I'm really hoping that this is what's happening with Victor because, otherwise, it's just sloppy writing and I really hope that the writers know what they're doing.

I can understand Victor holding back on Alison since that his sister, who he probably had the best relationship with. Plus while Alison murder his son, Victor also know that she has a right to be mad since his not actual son basically murder her actual daughter.

@@dogsand6345 I think it actually showcases how far Victor has come. He realized he doesn't have the luxury of lashing out emotionally like he did in the past because his powers are so destructive. It also hammers in how unhinged Allison has become, given that she has no qualms about using her powers to force people into submission or killing someone in cold-blood for basically being a victim of circumstance.

Yeah, I understood what Allison was feeling to a point, until Luther, and everything after. Her saying everyone (Victor) is always ruining her happiness, but everything that happens/happened to her, is a direct result of her using Rumor, to get whatever she wanted, in her OG life, and because of that, there were consequences she herself brought onto herself. Going so far as Viktor firsts apocalypse, it started with her Rumor, even though she was child then, the isolation and coldness towards her was most of their life. It all boils down to Hargreeves starting the whole thing when they were kids, but a lot of Allisons issues were caused by her own powers, which she realized in s2 then I guess unrealized here in s3. Her breakdown and anguish from the loss of Ray and Claire, absolutely yes, I get it, but when she first tried to make it 5s fault, then how she handled Sloane initially in the bathhouse, was like c'mon someone help Allison, or open up, but from Luther onwards was just no. Thought maybe Rays speech was gunna help ease some of that pain, but then Harlan said what he said, she just forgot all that, and then it just died.

hmmm i feel like the fact they've actually given a name to it this season and have now linked it to a new (unseen) character means we'll get more specifics with it. How could you guys not include the scene of Five and Viktor talking towards the end of the episode?! It's seriously one of the best scenes of the season imo. A very honest conversation where Five is able to be straightforward with Viktor about how his choices do affect the world while still being able to show he genuinely loves and cares about him. It's SUCH a good scene acting, dialogue, camera work and solidifies Five as my personal #1 of the siblings.

Hopefully, this helps: Alison only cares about getting back to the reality where she has Claire. Therefore, nothing in this reality matters. This is compounded by the fact that she has always been able to get whatever she wants - even Claire - by using her powers. Sure, sometimes things haven't gone her way and she's had to deal with it, but this time she categorically cannot use her powers to get what she wants. It's the first time she's ever lost complete control over her life. As a result, she's doing whatever she can to regain any control. At first, it was things like lying to the Sparrows for little to no gain against the plan she had with Viktor. Then, killing Harlan gave her control over Viktor. She's on a path to becoming a villain and it is supposed to be painful. It's one of the first times I can remember actually feeling like a character is becoming irredeemable. We love to hate her. As for the rest of the group, they've bounced from one apocalypse to the next pretty much non-stop, with only a few of them having some weird alternative lives in the 60s. At a certain point, your brain is going to disconnect from taking anything seriously, otherwise, they'd just go into a stupor. Couple that with traumatic childhoods and a disassociation with society and it all kinda weirdly makes sense. Equally, maybe it's all just written to evoke emotional reactions from the audience and none of it has to make sense.

Ya know... I adore this show and love this season, and I don't mind that Allison is getting hella dark (the actress is doing a great job), but I think I'm a bit disappointed with *how* it's being handled. In a show full of messaging about trauma they could have done so much more with exploring the idea of black women's trauma being minimized and tone policing and all that in how she feels unheard, overlooked, and constantly grows more spiteful. And especially since Victor transitioned it's a bit of an odd choice to make the only woman left in the family such an angering character IMHO.

Reginald definitely raised the Sparrows differently to how he raised the Umbrellas. They never outright say it, but it's definitely alluded to. The differences in their relationship with their assigned numbers is a pretty big give away. The Sparrows treat their numbers like a ranking, whereas the Umbrellas treat them like their names, which is probably because Reginald refers to the Sparrows by their actual names, whereas he refers to the Umbrellas by their numbers. Also, the fact that the Sparrows refer to Grace as "Grace", whereas the Umbrellas call her "Mom". I think, also, the fact that all of the Sparrows stayed and continued fighting crime as adults, whereas the Umbrellas all left home says a lot.

I think that one of the telltales for the change in Hargreeve's behavior with the Sparrows as opposed to how he was with the Umbrellas is right there in the name.. If it was all due to Ben dying, why would he not have named the new group of kids he found "The Umbrella Acadamy" as well? - After all, it wasn't (specifically) that he wanted to _not_ get the same kids - they literally were never born to begin with... Aside from that - they call the robot "Grace" instead of "mom", as the umbrellas did, suggesting that the whole _way_ they grew up was different, way before Ben's Jennifer incident. My theory is that Hargreeves very much remembered the conversation he had with the Umbrella members in the 60s, and was so horrified by the outcome of his "first try" he decided to change things up - but seeing as he didn't know which babies would grow up to be the kids ho met (since they didn't know who their birth mothers were to tell him, even if he was willing to give them more than 5 minutes of his times) all he could change was the environment they grew up - which is why the robot is now "grace", not "mother", Pogo eventually left - because he didn't agree with the harsh way the kids were treated and Ben is a nervous wreck of insecurities - as oppose to the sweet shy guy he was in S1-S2

I think it kinda makes sense that they dont make sense. Theyre all worn down and broken kids, with stunted growths, who’ve seen the world end 2(?) times now and billions upon billions of people have died in their lifetimes So i dont really expect their actions to be comprehensive or have much morality behind them At the same time, victor has shown time and time again that theyre willing to sacrifice the entire world for 1 person. He literally did it last season with missy. I dont like allison nor do i condone what she’s done but yea i can see how she’d be mad at victor after everything that’s happened to her. Its not like victor is free of blame

43:00 I think the point in the comparison between Alisson killing Harlen and Vanya killing Leonard Peabody was that while both were hurt at the time - Vanya was not entirely in control of her powers at the time (even if we set aside the fact that he manipulated her, betraying her in the most horrible way considering he was basically the first person who, she thought, actually believed - only to turn out to be someone who was just trying to use her). Still, I think Victor, as he is now, would not have had such control issues over his powers as Alisson had when she decided to murder in cold blood someone who _unintentionally_ caused her grief.

Alison tried to do the right thing for about two and a half seasons and it got her nothing in the end, so I can see why she might think being a good person is meaningless. Everything kept getting worse so what’s the point? What did they even save? Harlan most likely wouldn’t have survived anyway. Don’t get me wrong, she is being horrible but I can see how she became indifferent. Now let’s talk about the lack of care from Lila; she brought a boy into a future time line where he was killed at a young age when he could’ve lived more of his life had she not played her little game.

From Alison's point of view (not saying she's right, only offering a different perspective), Victor has had a hand in Alison losing people close to her 3 times now *first was Clair and her husband when Victor blew up the moon *2 was thanks to Victor in both FBI building and the barn, Alison lost Ray *now she finds out Harden killed (not murdered cause i recognize Harden didn't intend to kill but he still did the deed) her mother and also that Victor knew and wasn't going to say anything Each time it happens, her other brothers start making excuses for Victor and tell Alison not to be mad cause it's not Victor's fault. She isn't allowed to express her grief and he gets off Scott free, that's how Alison feels and this episode it finally hit a boiling point. Again, wither or not any of it was intended is irrelevant. Alison blames Victor forher loses with good reason to. I get all the stuff on Victor's side, drugs and Alison rumoring him to forget he had powers. This is only a look into Alison's side of things

You're not wrong. Allison's development feels... Cartoonish and forced? I can see how we could get this version of Allison, it just seems like her growth through season 1 and 2, even a little 3, has all been tossed aside? Idk. I couldn't wait till she was off screen. I just can't track with the character. Every decision up until then, I could at least understand. Like locking up Viktor in season 1, the family finds out Viktor is going to end the world, so they lock him up until they can figure something out. Then they end the world trying to stop the end of the world. Classic tale of trying to avoid a future just to end up on it's doorstep. We can try and see what we were supposed to see, but I don't see that helping the watch through. Pretty much annoyed with her through the end. And not because of a, "what a well written bad guy", feeling.

As the #1 Viktor Hargreeves defender I do have to say Viktor and Klaus have been the only ones I've ever been 100% on board with. I love Five and I kinda waver with Allison right now but I think they are both wrong in blaming Viktor just because of his powers. The world would be fine if no one was fucking with this guy. I have been pro world destruction ever sense Luther and Diego locked Viktor in that sound proof prison. Viktor has shown time and time again that he will do the right thing and not harm people until they provoke him into releasing his powers. This season has vindicated me in my "Viktor should just kill everyone" stance and if this season ends with Viktor killing everyone I will be happy (except for Klaus because he also has done nothing wrong and gets attacked for no reason).

Totally with Allison on this one, well besides "basement" comment. In any other show we salute people that go with "needed to be to done trope", like, let's say that no-neck meat-bag Amos in the Expanse, yet somehow we shy away from "ruthless choices". Harlan was irrelevant and his death was needed to bring famlies to work together, so she killed him, also everyone should be pandering to Victor's problems except anyone else's like Victor ended the worl couple time, he should definetly be watches and put down if need be. Also Allison is right people taking advantage of apologies, perfectly described, dk why you were making faces, that's the closest to reality argument as it gets

But Viktor killing billions is justifiable just because he throws a tantrum? Allison is right, everyone has faced losses but they are supposed to just ignore it because Viktor's is 'more' important? If it wasn't for a character having a meltdown or a villain era, it would be difficult to humanize them. This is what humanizes Allison. People like to hate on Allison because she murdered one guy, as opposed to Viktor who murders literally everyone. In season 2 Viktor was going to use his power, just because he disagreed with Five. Its obvious Viktor has been and always will be the issue. Even when he slit Allison's throat, she was still worried about him and wanted him to be released. People who are mother's know just how protective they are of their children. Viktor is not a mother, so he cannot relate to Allison's pain being 10x worse. I don't agree with what she did to Luther, but other than that Allison's pain is justified.

Allison made a conscious effort to murder Harlan. Viktor had just found out about his powers and didn't understand just how powerful he was. He did not set out to destroy the world.

@@dulcemunoz5491 Did you actually even read? In season 2 he already knew his powers can end the world, and he threatened to use them just because he disagreed with five. He also didn't check if he removed Harlan's powers and even kept that secret from all of them. Edit: Luther had a meltdown in season 1, why can't allison have hers?

@@abelcollado1711 oh so Viktor can never use his powers? If he hadn't stopped the commission at the end of the season, they'd be dead, dear. He has to use them at some point like everyone else. Even Umbrella Ben said it: Dad drugged you for years and hid your powers. That lack of control is logical. And don't act like only Viktor has hidden information when it's the same fucking thing Five has done all the fucking seasons. That's one of the reasons why his "threat" attempt was stupid. Alisson doesn't have a fucking justification, she even sexually assaulted her own brother. bfr

Vicktor is not an innocent victim. I can create a list of things he has done in seasons 1, 2, and 3. I don't understand this lack of sympathy for Allison when she has been putting up with that crap for years. Being by his side for years and how fast did victor turn on her? slit her throat?

Honestly, to me her villain arc is so incredibly well done, written, executed, acted. All of it, the only thing that didn't work was sexual assault scene but if you ignore that it's so well done i can only think of one reason why they can root for Hargreaves after everything he's done and not Allison
@WarlordPayne
@WarlordPayne Жыл бұрын
@@fembrucewayne1904 Because this is a different Hargreaves who appears to be trying to make amends for things while Allison has always been, and continues to be, despicable. She's used her powers on everyone around her to get anything she wants, and the minute she can't force shit to go her way she becomes a murderer.

Allison hasn't been by his side for years. When they were children Viktor was ignored by everybody. Once they were adults everyone left. Allison and Viktor have only had a relationship for about two or three weeks.
