@@Neolovre-the euro in 2004 was bad because the countries in that group teamed to make Italy exit in the group stages and in 2002 (prime Italy) South Korea robbed us and Spain, we would have easily gone to the final and probably lost to Brazil.

Insane to see that some of winning teams like Red Star 1991, Manchester United 1999, Italy 2006, and Inter Milan 2010 as an underdogs. They really deserved the winners because of the good team at that time.

What Kaiserslatuern didd in 1998 was the stuff of legends. They got promoted to the Bundesliga in 1997. Dortmund won the UCL, Schalke won the UEFA Cup and Bayern won the Bundesliga in 1997. Yet Kaiserlsatuern shocked the world by winning the Bundesliga, despite having these 3 clubs who are defending champions in Europe and Bundesliga, respectively. Kaiserslatuern's coach went on to manage Greece and won the Euros as well in 2004.

Dortmund were underdogs in the 2010/2011 season when they became champions. They were in 5th place in the previous season and had many young players like Hummels, Götze, Sahin, Lewandowski, Kagawa etc, who were not yet stars at the time.

Chelsea's Champions League win in 2011/12 was more of an underdog run than the win in 2020/21. Due to a poor manager (André Villas-Boas) and the team falling out with the manager, Chelsea went 3-1 down to Napoli in the round of 16. Despite this, the team (after Villas-Boas was sacked) went on to win the home leg 4-1. This was followed by beating Benfica in the Quarter Finals and getting Barcelona in the Semis. This was prime Pep Barcelona, and they just won the treble the year prior. After a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, Barcelona went 2-0 up, before John Terry (Chelsea's best CB and captain) got a red. Despite this, they drew the match 2-2. After that, and with half the first team out from injuries or suspensions, they played Bayern Munich in the final, in the Allianz Arena. Half their team down and playing an away match, Chelsea held until the 83rd minute, where Muller scored. Despite being 1-0 down, Chelsea scored in the final minutes, taking the game to extra time. Drogba then gave a penalty in extra time, but it was saved, bringing the game to penalties (This Chelsea team famously lost on penalties to Man United in their last Champions League final). Chelsea then won 4-3, beating Bayern in their own stadium. It's probably the most underrated underdog run.

Sobre 1999 não sei, mas 2006 a Itália passou por aquele enorme escândalo que resultou no rebaixamento da Juventus, o clima estava muito ruim. Ainda assim a França não estava muito melhor, com um treinador que escalava jogadores pelo zodíaco. 2010 a Inter conseguiu eliminar na semifinal o Barcelona que era disparado o favorito.
