The Undergarden is a mod that currently adds in 1 dimension, 9 biomes, 17 mobs, 1 structure, 10+ plants/fungi, 15 foods, 6 sets of building/decor blocks + extras, roughly 11 stray materials/items, 8 ores, 3 armor sets, 4 tool sets, 4 music discs, 4 potion effects, and 20+ advancements. The mod has a full team of developers working on it, which means new content and new versions will come out sooner than later! The Undergarden mod also has a wiki and a discord server, both links can be found on its curseforge page.

Make sure to download JEI to make the crafting recipes more readily available. Also look out for future updates on the mod, the developers are planning on adding in a new dimension called the Otherside and implementing the Masticator! Here's a list of corrections for the things I got wrong in the video: - Tremblecrust doesn't spawn anywhere - Twistytwigs aren't the Undergarden equivalent of vanilla sticks, they are a stick/string hybrid for crafting - Caves spawn at EVERY Y level

The forgotten hoe has the mine speed buff due to hoes being able to mine stuff like leaves and hay.

I believe the Otherside is where the Rotspawn and utherium come from.

As cool as the mod is I kinda just wish that they upgraded The Betweenlands. It had so much more going on for it and such a rich atmosphere that I feel like the Undergarden was made as an afterthought.

clean format on the layout each time a new item is being featured on the video while it is being presented, great video as it pretty conveys it as simply and as effective for viewers to keep the information on them if they ever feel adventurous and decide to go to the dimension itself

Since the undergarden is going to have another dimension which is the homeworld of the rotspawn, and since the betweenlands has a whole theme around decay'n shit. The lores of both mods can fit rather nicely together...

Remember to slot the Aether in between GalactiCraft Space and the Sky, and if you want to, slot The Betweenlands between the Undergarden and Nether.

Note, you can't buy two of the discs off Stoneborn, only sell. They're found in the Catacombs. I may be wrong but that's from personal recollection

The update I am 100% on is that the Stoneborn no longer sell the battleaxe, and it is now dropped by a new enemy in the Catacombs, the Forgotten, which replace the old enemy spawners. I'll go look and see if the Stoneborn sell the other discs, though.

Looks great, but very hard to navigate without some tech or magic mod to enable flying (the Elytra will hardly do, because A LOT of flying seems to be needed here, and making fireworks and repairing the Elytra is not a very easy task.

The only real complaint I have about this mod is that the really vertical design of it seems to discourage exploration unless you come in with an elytra.

It's a sound effect I downloaded from Epidemic Sound, it's called "Drone Scary Ambience" by SFX Producer

That's a very good question! I asked the head mod dev and he basically said he thought it was a cool thing to implement for gameplay.....so there really isn't good explanation for it

Oh my apologies, I didn't know they decided to keep it in 1.12.2. When did they tell the public this? Edit: And even if they made the decision to keep it 1.12.2 the mod is still outdated, so I'm justified to call it outdated.

I am so, SO tired of mods that just use the nether portal setup with different blocks and sometimes a different lighting item. When the aether did it, it was thematically relevant since it was a complete inversion of the nether. Not only that, but it was _balanced._ You had to go to the nether first to get the materials for it. But now? Damn-near EVERY mod is doing it. It’s so rare seeing things like Twilight Forest and Orespawn actually put thought into how the player gets to their respective dimensions.

That's why I like the beneath mod, it doesn't use the stale portal design. Although, digging to bedrock and falling into the dimension isn't all that exciting, it's at least something new

I remember The Erebus also has the same core "vertical portal" setup but I'd say it's a bit cooler because it actually allows for really varied portal sizes _and_ shapes, plus the process to actually get it all set up and ready to go is more involved It can take a bit longer as you need 1 emerald (2 if you want 2-way travel immediately as I understand) and a few bits of obsidian as part of the crafting materials to create the portal "lighter", but it's quite rewarding I'd say
