I know! It was just so very silly - but incredibly funny! In a way, by being so very over-the-top, it made it less offensive somehow? Just so ridiculous, like cartoon humour! I hope that Rod Stewart got a laugh out of it as well, because Kenny was never malicious, he was only ever mischievous.

So ahead of his time and so risqué for the BBC back then. On TV and radio, he pushed boundaries, introduced so much creativity into the industry. He definitely broke the mold. A great talent without any doubt

Too PC unfortunately. The world is killing off independent views. Now you can't say or do anything without offending some armchair warrior or other, especially those who are constantly offended on behalf of others! Today they wouldn't know what to do with poor Kenny, on the one hand his sketches were edgy enough to get banned but on the other hand he was gay so they would have to show the cared about gay rights and equality. Not mean it of course just parrot some well practiced and politically correct words on some social media platform to show a false social conscience.

I have a very happy memory of being 10 years old and during a School play, laughing my head off instead of speaking my lines. I did watch Kenny Everett’s Video Show the night before and all I could think of during the play was this bloody funny sketch where Kenny had a constant runny nose and sprayed the running snot with a spray that froze it like ice.

When they mention underrated performers, Kenny had to be near the top, but he was kept down because he had the unfortunate habit of telling the truth. Something which the BBC didn"t understand!!

One of the unique and talented people that defined my youth. Come home from the club and watch Kenny before heading to bed, good times :) The sad thing is a lot of what he did would be censored or criticized today despite people claiming there is more "freedom" and "openness" in the world :/ The really sad thing is that the gay community did so much to define the 80's in terms of music and culture and still got treated so badly by the society of the time.
