Ep.5 : This week’s episode of The Unit is titled, ‘Girl Crush’. As the booting evaluation is coming to an end, female teams with various charms appear. A group of talented vocalists, Matilda makes the mentors laugh with their cheerful energy. Rubber Soul’s Kim gets noticed as one of the strongest performers with her outstanding rapping and singing. This is not a bias opinion, but from my point of view, I'm amazed how SM can trained their artists and trainees into a perfect shape. Look at their singing skills and dancing skills though?! And look at Hansol and look at Taemin. I mean- how?! Eventhough sometimes SM treat their atists like shit but I'm truly satisfied of what they've become under SM. Jjang!

true... but it's kinda like expected for them..... tons and tons of people auditioned to get it so they can easily choose the most talented ones for their trainees and they hired the best trainers for them so it actually makes sense ....... it must also be why they dont appreciate the trainees/artist better... like they have so many of them

Eduard Cringefest I don't think is KBS logic but Market/Industry logic. First of all they will try to make it big in S. Korea so they should market and emphasize on Korean audiences first and other countries that give the most financial income to agencies.

These episodes were recorded before December 2017, so Jonghyun hadn't passed away yet. The dates are when the episodes actually aired on TV. You can also tell because Taemin's hair wasn't black yet--he had it dyed black when he performed and won at MAMA 2017 on December 1st.

Because of this show, it has made me get into so many more groups and it just hurts to watch. I love them all so much! also if anyone can help me learn more about A.Cian I'd really appreciate it. That moment with them was heart wrenching and I want to understand what they've been through

Euijin of Bigflo was a former A.cian member and leader. He was with those 2 precious men before. Can't help but feel sadder for A.cian because of what could've been had Euijin stayed with the group, considering what he achieved in the show...I wonder what their interactions in The Unit were like. I hope they're on good terms. I noticed that only Jungsang and Euijin still interact with each other on IG.

Its interesting, we expect idols that we dont know to get into a show like this because its their chance, but I actually recognized so many of the groups and idols... In kpop industry is not enough if you are good, is not enough if people know you, is not enough if you have a hit or two. You need to make really big or you will be thrown away by the company, and everyone knows there is not enough space for everyone to be huge. It's sad to see that they cant just be a happy small idol group with their small fanbase. Because the companies are greedy, they cant manage a group to just be stable.

They cut their performance :( tbh the whole thing was a mess, they had technical difficulties and their mics failed around 4 times. They gave a ton of air time to an actor who had no talents as an idol, but not to TD. They also didn't give everyone the chance to show their individual talents which was upsetting, which is why only B-Joo and Hojoon passed because they were able to do so (even though Hojoon's was a sympathy boot by Rain).

Elisa Moncibaiz yeah I know, the while thing was rigged. They knew more or less who was going to make it in the groups. There were so many other idols who also didn't get any air time. How were people supposed to vote for idols on the unit if they didn't see anything about them? Like I fell in love with all of the idols, THE ONES WHO GOT SCREENTIME. People would of loved toppdogg. So disappointing...

I can't believe Big Flo performed Apology (06:09) and A.cian did B-Day (16:22). Few years back I just watched iKON doing covers of other artist now their music are covered. I am crying and so proud. I as a konic will be cheering for Big Flo and A.cian in future, if you'll release song, definitely I will listen to it. Take it as my "thank you" for performing iKON'S song.
