I am a member of a PCA church. That's Presbyterian Church in America, that split from the Presybterian Church USA back in the 70s. We are still a strong biblical, reformed denomination.

If you can't find a Bible based conservative church in your area, there are plenty of Bible churches that livestream or have their services online. Join an online Christian faith fellowship or support forum for encouragement. Lastly, maybe there's a Bible study group in your area that gets together to study God's Word and for fellowship. I agree whole-heartedly. I am a first time mother at 40 with a 4 month old and am leaving my 19 year career because God gifted me with a little boy who needs me. I am also looking forward to taking care of my husband and our home. Waiting this long for a child was not by choice and is a great blessing.

Do you have some stats on stay-at-home mothers v working mothers as a percentage of the general population or is it more just general "America's going to heck in a handbasket" type grousing? Any spreadsheets on 2 working parent households in relation to cost of living expenses and ages of children? That certainly must be frustrating though. Knowing what's best for everyone and yet having to live with so many people not understanding that.

While I’m Southern & a Baptist, I am NOT a member of a SBC church. The SBC will be splitting in a few years over this very thing and are by no means, in general terms, the “gold standard”. The exception in the SBC seems to be the small country churches who are pastored by older men standing on solid Scripture while ignoring the trash coming out of Macon GA.

Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both based on genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

It's been happening for decades. I knew when they put in the big digital screens, electric guitars, giant speakers, and decided that a church service was supposed to look and feel like a rock concert. That's when we high-tailed it out of there. We can read the Bible ourselves, and with the internet and other books as resources to help with interpretation, we don't need the "concert", nor the "alternative" lifestyles being paraded around.

That is an excellent point. Upon reflection, I can see that such pomp and pageantry is played up in many carnal arenas - politics, sports, business, and yes, even religion. Quite a shame, though, that the UMC did the O'Jays music dirty like that.

That’s the point of all of this. To close churches. All of the churches that adopt this type of teaching always always end up closing.

Yes. We were let by Satan to abandon our natural roles in the domestic realm and "play" man in the career and politics world. It all went downhill ever since. Homelife has been obliterated. Children have suffered. Families are broken and weak. God help us.

You should consider initiating a home group. There are also a number of online small groups who meet weekly. My mother's family was in the UMC. I have numerous relatives buried over multiple generations in the Methodist cemeteries. So sad.

Lutheran Church Missouri Synod hasn’t gone woke. Yet, I guess.

I have pastored rural UM churches for 35 years. We were able to disaffiliate. The county seat church here remained United Methodist. Some of their members are coming to our churches now. You did the right thing to get out. Perhaps you can form a home church until God provides. God Bless.

Exactly. Instead of being surprised or shocked, I'm actually encouraged because what the bible says would happen is happening before our very eyes if we have "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" and can connect what the bible says to current events.

I attended a Methodist church in 1960. I was 16 and had been a Christian only two months. After the evening service the church put on a dance party for the teenagers in the basement. I never went back.

@@kittyhawk7060 Wow, I didn't realize the compromise started that far back. I was 5 in 1960. At that time, Catholic mass was still said in Latin and was very conservative. Not until Vatican II in 1964 did the Catholic Church start to change. Thanks for sharing.

I think a lot of people trust that their pastor is not going to lead them down the road to hell, and so they don't bother reading their Bibles.

One UMC in my town decided to go nondenominational and independent, with the same pastor, etc. because they didn't want anyone telling them what they could or could not do.

I left UMC during COVID and stayed out after finally seeing the truth of scripture. Global Methodist ordains women. I can’t consider them, either.

I'm sad to hear they didn't go with you. I am a recently baptized member of Reynoldsburg Community Church near Columbus OH, a Global Methodist Church. My family and I are former Mormons and are having a wonderful experience here! So glad they disaffiliated.
