This video has been years in the making and I'm finally comfortable enough to share my thoughts and experience on such a vulnerable topic

I agree 100% .. so much expectation to look a certain way when we are all unique in our own way. Great video Lizzie!!

Thanks so much, beauty!! Agreed. We are all beautiful and I hope that more gals (and guys) can start to embrace the way that they look without feeling pressured to be someone else.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your thoughts. People are turning into real life filters and it's becoming sad to see young people strive towards these impossible standards. And great shout on the ufo 3, it's my faveourite beauty device so far!

Of course! absolutely. It's starting so young now. Just breaks my heart!! I can't even imagine growing up right now (it';s hard enough as an adult!). I do hope this changes in the future! Also, yes! The UFO 3 is amazing!! I just love it so far. Glad you are a fan as well :-)

Thank you so much for this video. I love all of your videos Lizzie. You are such a beautiful woman and a joy. I have been criticized most of my life, so I understand how you feel. I am a plus size woman, and a very feminine woman. I love wearing dresses and florals in everything. A lot of people dislike plus size people, I have struggled with my weight all my life, I have a hard time losing weight, I have degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and arthritis, so at times it's hard to just get up and walk but I do the best that I can. I think everyone is beautiful, everyone has talents that they can share with others. I wish I saw your videos when I was in high school. You have really inspired me on my girly feminine only dresses journey along with Inspired by Nikki.

Thank you so much for making such a positive and honest video, Lizzie!! You are a truly beautiful person inside and out. I would love if you made a video about your self esteem journey, since this is something I have struggled with a lot and am still working to overcome. It is so wrong that we live in a world where other people think it is okay to give others unsolicited criticism just to make the criticizer feel better about themselves.

We each have our unique beauty, and the filters or nose jobs, lip fillers, etc are making everyone look more the same, and more unnatural. Brats dolls is exactly right! I’ve had that same thought too. I remember the first time I saw a brats doll at the store years ago and was very put off by the way it looked, it didn’t look like a toy appropriate for children or anyone. I am curious, if you remember, what age were people telling you negative comments about your appearance, and who did it mainly come from? It’s always tragic when it comes from family, because there’s hardly escape from that. I’ve been wondering if a lot of it starts in middle school / junior high? It seems like that is when a lot of children feel very self conscious and vulnerable, but many are also very nasty to others at the same time. I am curious, because I was homeschooled 6th-8th, and when I went back to public high school, it seemed like the other kids had been through almost a war zone of cruelty. They thought I was very lucky to be homeschooled during that time. Anyways, I think I somehow escaped the worst of those times, or I was oblivious - which does happen to me, haha, perhaps a blessing in disguise. Anyways, I’m glad you are recovering from some of those old wounds. Forgive them and let go of those old burdens, and live in the present with healed wounds that don’t bother you anymore.

Agreed! We are all unique and beautiful in our own way (and I truly mean that!). That's such an interesting question and honestly, i never really thought about it until now. It started very young for me... probably elementary school age. I had one family member in particular that would pick me apart and continued to do so until about six years ago. I also had "friends" in elementary that would make comments about how "chubby" I was or how I looked. Junior high expanded to the popular girls that would make fun of how I looked and how I dressed (because we didn't have much money for the "cool clothes"). And in high school, it continued with these popular girls picking on me and even causing physical harm at one point. "Friends" were much more critical of my appearance around this time too, especially regarding my lips, teeth, nose, hips, etc. It's really a sad thing!! You are very lucky to have missed out on all of that for the most part. I honestly think that we wouldn't be so hard on ourselves if people didn't point out our non-existent flaws. We all want to fit in and feel included so this causes so many to want to change themselves drastically. Absolutely!! I have mostly healed from all of that and I finally feel confident in my own skin
