▼Synopsis
A ronin named Azami Onijuro travels the Nikko Highway, he is being followed by the bounty hunter Daihachi and Yukata Danzen. He is pursued by his past as a covert spy under Lord Matsudaira. Due to certain circumstances, Onijuro betrayed him and became a wandering ronin. Ever since, he's been hunted by Matsudaira's subordinates and bounty hunters. After saving the tough and fiery woman Omom from yakuza trouble, Onijuro and his companions head to Akame-shuku (inn town). Here, a conflict brews between the Tsurugame family led by Genroku and the lawless monk group led by Tetsuzan, a former sumo wrestler gone rogue. Onijuro sides with Tetsuzan, while Daihachi and Danzen side with Genroku. This intricate web of allegiances and confrontations unfolds against the backdrop of the bustling post town.
This special drama was broadcast on TV Asahi on October 31, 1991. Hiroshi Tachi , shows off his charm as a nihilistic ronin in this enchanting drama. In addition to Watari Tetsuya and Kanda Masaki, the film also features appearances by Yutaka Miki, Ryu Tanikawa, and the late Takeshi Akiyama, all of whom belonged to Ishihara Promotion at the time, making fans of Ishihara's ""Ishihara Gundan"" a happy surprise.

wow, this is by far the longest samurai movie I have ever watched. the storytelling is good, it is too bad that Matsudaira didn't die at the end. and I see the actor who played Kondo Isami in The Bloody Account of The Shogun's Guard is here too.

So stupid, he killed lots of subordinates who do not have any quilt other than being guard of a lord, and the let the main villan alive. So what he has achieved? Nothing, utter stupidity. I really do not understand japanese mind. Why the step father did let woman know whose real father is, kept it untill minute of ambush. Main hero is also stupid. He let the assasin kill his friends basically. He could have killed him in the temple...
