The Dandora dumpsite, a sprawling 30-acre area in the North-East suburbs of Nairobi, is the only designated dumpsite for the thousands of tonnes of rubbish produced daily in the city.
Despite Dandora dumpsite having the negative reputation it has, one outstanding Pastor, David Karisa, the Founder of Rock Ministry has opened a church in the middle of the dumpsite with the aim of bringing the community together through faith.
His humble church has faced a number of challenges such as sinking into the pile of garbage but such setbacks have only motivated him to re-open and continue the mission of evangelism and reforming the young generation in that place.
