The John Wick films make up one of the most successful and critically acclaimed action franchises of all time, and they put Keanu Reeves back on the map in a major way, but there might be a lot you don’t know about them.
The character wasn’t originally written specifically for Reeves, but once he was on board, he worked with the filmmakers to craft the character, and he even brought some old friends from the Matrix films along.

IMO, pierce brosnan is just as suitable to portray this character. He just doesn't have the same negotiating power as keanu reeves cause people forgot about him after the 4 007 movies.

@@MistaWordz Suitability isn't based solely on how badass an actor can look even for a plot like this. I was referring to the importance of his woman to him and how he would look good as an assassin. His style wouldn't be like keanu. He would be an expert at booby traps and capture liggo's son to slowly torture him.

John Wick chapters 1, 2, and 3, are probably the best example of a series based on minimal writing skills and absolutely epic fight scenes and choreography. Not many movies can stand alone on the visuals but these do all this and then some. Each chapter has been able to not only live up to, but surpass the previous. I am looking forward to chapter 4 although I'm sure we'll all have to wait at least a couple years.

I had watch john wick 3 yesterday. Believe me, this is the best action movie of this year. All the actions are fantastic. My favorite moment is the horse kick, throwing knife, underwater shooting and dog scene of course.

Its what makes him a myth, a legend, if they just showed what he did it would just be another story like any other. Thanks! The thing I noticed about the gold coins is its obvious influence from some of the old westerns you mentioned. In so many western movies, some guy walks into a bar in a little town in the middle of nowhere, asks for a drink (or a bottle), & drops a coin on the bar. It's an iconic trope, & one they've made good use of in the John Wick films. And; in no western I have ever seen does the guy ever get change back from the coin! ;) The first 2 Wick movies have been nothing short of fantastic, & I can't wait for the third! Rikki Tikki.

While I enjoyed JW3, I felt it was more forced then the first two. Like they wanted more action so they reduced the story building and added a lot more time jumps so it wasn't as seamless. I would have preferred a slower pace in the middle for the story building and then kept the climatic end battle the way it was.

This movie was fantastic,man what a awesome movie and I thought they couldn't top the first two movies.The fight choreography,action scenes and cinematography,wow just top notch. Whole team did an fantastic job,Lionsgate deserves a win this time and I'm glad they got those two guys from the raid franchise. I just hope in the 4th installment,they add Iko Uwais,Jackie Chan and Tom Cruise for cameos,now that would be dope.I hope this movie earns US $1B+ in the bo,I know its near impossible but still they deserve it.

Some people believe that the coins are not just a calling card but a type of physical prestige meaning a gold coin from a low ranked assassin (The FNG or a Rookie) is worth less than an assassin like John Wick. So the rookie's coin could be say $100 but a coin from John Wick could be worth $14Mil (using his bounty in JW3)

As an Australian young man myself I loved the John Wick film franchise because it is so awesome, so badass, so entertaining, so fascinating, so intense and so wild & my favourite one was the first film. Poor John he was orphaned when he was a boy, he lost his childhood joy by being indoctrinated to be trained as a ruthless assassin plus hitman for different criminal organizations, he lost his beloved wife Helen to terminal illness, his first dog Daisy was killed, his friend Harry was killed, his friend Marcus was murdered, his cool vintage car wrecked, his beautiful house blown up, his continental hotel privileges lost, his continental allies turn against him, he lost his reputation, he lost his safety, he lost his ring-finger & he had to give up his deceased wife’s wedding ring to the Elder of the High Table, what is he going to lose next? absolutely depressing & painful. This poor tough man can’t even a catch a break. The only time he caught a break when he married his wife Helen for five years until she sadly passed away. He lost mostly everything positive in his life. Any normal human being around the world would have committed suicide if they experience those awful tragedies in their life. Like seriously his life is literally a never-ending nightmare absolutely devastating. Life is full of ongoing suffering like seriously it is so not fair that we humans have to experience that but I guess that is the price of being born alive in to this wicked world.

These movies are so great because they are original scripts and not a reboot. Make 15 John Wicks and I will be watching 15 movies.

The fight sequences in JW3 was nothing short of brilliant. Definitely upping the bar for well-choreographed fight sequences. Mark Dacascos was also great in this one. Jason Statham needs to be the next opponent.

I watched John Wick today in the morning and it was VERY VERY GOOD!!! I think it’s better then Endgame

its the story of a man with no love (dog or god taken away, wife taken away, car or possessions taken away) so he has nothing but vengeance left....the entire story takes place in the mind....its biblical
