It is a little musical nod towards the 'jungle sound" created by Edward 'Duke' Ellington in collaboration with trumpeter James "Bubber" Miley and trombonist Joe 'Tricky Sam' Nanton by using straight and plumber mutes for the "Wah-wah" sound during the late 20s. Interestingly this musical effect had a popular comeback in the 1970s by using the "Wah-wah" pedal for electric guitars and electrically amplified trumpets in Funk, Rock and Jazz.

Deniro was great as Al Capone. But this was never going to a movie that really delved into the character. If they ever did a biopic on Capone, Deniro would’ve been great for that.

DeNiro gained 40 lbs for the role, though that still pales in comparison to the 70 lbs Vincent D'Onofrio put on to play Private Leonard "Gomer Pyle" Lawrence in Full Metal Jacket. Bob Hoskins was the second choice to play Capone in case DeNiro turned down the role.

He might have heard about it that one of his crew messed up and killed a few children, but even if he knew, he probably never cared about it, the girl might just have been at the wrong place at the wrong time and got in the way, and life goes on... These things can happen when it comes to the organised crime...

Was an okay movie but there were many discrepancies. A major one would be the death of Frank Nitti, who wasn't thrown off a building by Eliot Ness, but committed suicide near a railroad embankment by putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger, a full 10 years after the repeal of prohibition.
@Harkness784 жыл бұрын
