When the US is loading off military gear in our Antwerp haven, I see these flying a lot, they have a distinctive sound that is easily recognizable. Yesterday a C17 flew over with next to him a F18, flying east, probably to Polen or Germany, My first encounter with an F18, because we have for now only F16s, but that will change in a few months when the F35's are arriving.

7:40. Why is he talking about a mini gun on the ramp when it’s an M240 in the door?

We can mount guns to the ramp but rarely ever do as they obstruct our primary entry/exit point, the ramp. I do not think M134 miniguns can be mounted on the ramp though, only the left forward window and right forward door on compatible models.

Ive flown these for over 10 years now, its such an awesome platform I still look up anytime I hear one. Most versatile aircraft in the inventory. The Miniguns are only mounted on the MH-47G's and they dont mount them on the ramp. They are mounted in the left and right gun position, they additionally have rear gun positions with standard M240H's mounted. CH-47F's are equipped with standard M240H's in the left and right gun positions with a ramp mounted 240 in certain mission configurations.

Like the 15min format. What does having tandem rotors have to do with hovering in place? Tandem rotors allow all the power for lifting vs driving a tail rotor.

Actually, one of the unique features of the Chinook is that the pilots can not only control the pitch of the blades, but also if the airframe which allows it to hover stable at an angle between 0 and 30 degrees above the ground. Normal helicopters can only hover (stationary) when it is in absolutely level flight. As wind and the 'air cushion' disturbs the level hovering requiring the pilot to constantly make very subtle movements which the cyclic. However I do agree that they should have elaborated a bit more on the angled hovering capabilities and why that is a tandem rotor only feature. Hope this helps.

Sad to see so many errors in this one. There's always one or two, but this one has more. Especially stating the paratroopers jump out the side doors of the helicopter

He is wrong from begining : historicaly, line of succession of models. GPS is part of inertial navigation?! etc etc
