I remember hearing about the Elisa Lam case back then and being creeped out by the released elevator footage. It’s even scarier how we never really knew what exactly happened to her and how she ended up where she was found. 😰

@kimlayman47423 жыл бұрын
When I first saw the footage,I was like what happened to her? When she walks out of the elevator,it looked like she was talking to someone. You're right,when the hotel manager called Elisa Lam's mom first instead of the police first was suspicious. I felt so sorry for her. You can see she was hiding. Netflix always has great documentaries. It was weird that they didn't have more camera's than what they did. If you had the chance,would you want to do a investigation in this hotel? Like a spirit box session? Would be so creepy to stay there.😱 Love your hat btw!!😃💖👻

The general manager was a bit weird. Shes described the hotel as her kingdom, it had good bones. Like my dad was even suspicious and he is a ex policeman and he said she was a bit emotionless except when she spoke about the hotel. Like when she said it was her kingdom she kinda brightened up
@hiddenflower8623 жыл бұрын
Yup! The manager was low key pissing me off. She made so many slide remarks. She was MORE concerned about the hotel than the people in it!

I’m so glad that I wasn’t the only one who thought that ex-manager’s gave off a suspicious vibe. She potentially placed others in danger when she decided to sandwich visitors of “Stay on Main” with the residents of the Cecil Hotel.

Also, I would think if she was having a manic depressive episode, it didn't help when those girls complained about not wanting her in their room. It probably made her feel really bad at about herself, so that feeling was amplified because of her disorder. Hypothetically, this could of led her to jump into the water tank. (If a suicide at all)

Same. Any form of dying by not being able to breathe but drowning is definitely the worst. Choking on smoke for instance would probably knock you out fast with the toxicity if you were in a house fire, still horrifying but drowning is just...urgh knowing eventually you'll have to breathe in and inhale the water. What happens after that? Do you die quickly or are still feeling the urge to breathe out? I always overthink things that'll hopefully never happen to me. I can't help it

I did read that Elisa Lam was taking medication before this happened and they did that she didn't took her medication which led to her being hallucinated and thinking that people were after which they were not. It's crazy yet again sad of what happens to people especially people that takes different types of medication and if they don't take it, sometimes bad things can happend and it's the sad truth like what happened to Elisa Lam. I completely forgot about the medication but it makes this case more understanding that somebody trying to kill her and something paranormal as well which nobody was wrong in either side. This was an awesome analysis that I remember hearing for a while, thanks Britt 👍👌

The hotel itself is a dark place. It's so much going on there. Them saying that the tank was open then later saying it was closed? Someone could've found her or seen her get in the tank and did nothing. They either didn't want to get in trouble or sued. We'll never know because the surveillance was poorly done there. It's so sad and it's so many theories. Something is not right. Wouldn't you call the police or check with the ladies that she was rooming with?
@error47943 жыл бұрын
phillyrye Exactly! Did the maintenance, guy find the hatch on the tank open or was it closed when he went and checked the tanks? The police repeatedly states they found it shut! Sooo Why are the police and hotel conspiring and hiding things?

Every hotel I have worked in (I've worked in 4 as a maid), I was always told by management that it's mandatory to have cameras on every floor due to safety for guests and staff (just incase). My logical brain for this is that they know what has happened but because of who (or what) it was they hid a lot to keep the rep of the hotel clean because the hotels name was changed to hide the past of the hotel and they had a clean rep up until the lesa lam incident with the new name change. But that's my opinion.

I watched this with my boyfriends mom who is also into true crime and keeps the ID channel on majority of the time, when it was over I looked at her and said I’m not accusing the manager because everyone has different personalities but something is so weird about her..how she said she called her mom first and said get ready something big is about to happen..which could be explained like you said because of the hotel’s history and she could have just been preparing her mother because when things like this happen that is already big in the news with everyone watching then families end up getting followed for interviews and questions by the media so she very well could have been preparing her mother for the media to be following her for questions..but also every time something was brought up bad about the hotel she would get very defensive and say it wasn’t their fault and it’s not fair that everyone views the hotel that way yet there is documented proof these things happened at the hotel..but yet again it could be explained by her putting all of her time, energy and money into this hotel to make it something better and be better than its reputation and it offends her and bothers to that she wasn’t able to do that..we don’t know what all really went on behind the scenes either with her I’m sure it had some type of effect on her..but it was very weird and her whole vibe was just weird to me
@jenn47943 жыл бұрын
Yes!! I was telling my mom the exact same thing. We both felt something off about the manager. Especially how she kept defending the hotel and calling it a “kingdom” lol.
@Nicole-zc3fj3 жыл бұрын
The manager was def off. I don’t think she killed her but I think she maybe edited the footage (missing minute) and covered for whoever closed the tank. I think Elisa’s death was an accident due to being off her meds and having an episode and I think hotel staff covered their asses. She showed no remorse or care for the poor girl. She just wanted to protect the death hotels reputation.
@brittanyreed43773 жыл бұрын
@@Nicole-zc3fj yea I don’t think she killed her either but I think there was maybe something on the footage not even necessarily a murder because I’ve always kinda felt like it was some weird accident..anyone who has mental health issues knows when it gets really bad you’re not in your right mind and especially if she was seeing and hearing things trying to hurt her..but I do feel like there was something on the footage maybe even a worker approached her and walked away and didn’t help, the manager said that it basically wasn’t their job to take care of her and knew that the other guests in her room complained and also the things she was doing in the lobby..if there was more proof that they knew something was going on with her and they didn’t help then the family could have sued and the manager would have probably ended up loosing everything..I’m not an expert on computers and things like that but I feel like if you have security cameras you have them for a reason and expect them to be recording at all times and in case of some incident then you expect it to not cut bits and pieces off, the family tried to sue for wrongful death and lost..maybe whatever was cut off the tapes was just a worker walking by and ignoring her in obvious distress..then again we don’t know it very well could have been a faulty camera and it just cut 50 something seconds off
@brittanyreed43773 жыл бұрын
@@jenn4794 yeah it’s far from any kingdom, I will admit the front lobby is nice but once you go past that part it’s like walking into a completely different hotel..no offense to drug addicts and sex workers but I wouldn’t call a place known for prostitution, drugs, murder, suicide, and serial killers being frequent guests a kingdom..if they ever want the hotel to succeed as much as I hate to say it because it’s not the people living on skid rows fault but they would probably have to relocate and try to salvage as much of the original pieces in the lobby as they can and do a whole name change

Honestly I kinda think she was hiding from smth bc elisas sister did say that when Elisa doesn’t take her medication for depression and her bipolar issues she would see things in her head and the documentary did say that she went in the tank to hide and took off her clothes to yk float but she couldn’t get out.
@SavedError3 жыл бұрын
That seems off though. She was hiding from an actual person, indicated by the persons foot you can see by the elevator. And the tanks are hard to open. If she opened it alone, she must have been really strong. But the alarm still would have gone off.

That's understandable, but I'm kinda getting pissed off because there was nothing supernatural or murderous at all about this case. Mental disorders need to be destigmatized and taken seriously. Not digging deeply enough for Elisa's mental history and then not accepting the results is what dragged this case on and on when the results could have been clear as day so much earlier.
