Still the best part of this video, is the look on Frances' face when she opens her mouth to sing, and the Japanese crowd know all the words. It's purely magical!

@@shadows631 - he made them different, and in that sense, he could take someone else's song and make it his, while still paying homage. Personally, I like both The Vaseline's versions and Nirvana's.

Great song great band, Cobain liked them for a reason.. Songs that come from their hearts and not to make money. Class. They deserve credit for writing the kind of music that they wanted to write and not what record companies wanted them to write..

This is superb - the size of the audience! At first I thought maybe they're on as a support band until you see how mental the whole audience are going (plus is that a big cheer when they realise that the Vaselines have included the horn in 'Mollys Lips'?). And I still love Frances...

I had no Idea that nirvana covered these songs i thought it was originally Kurt's lyrics dumb me it's fantastic hear the vasalines she is very pretty and has an amazing voice.

@BIGFIRMERIC I don't wanna say you're not entitled to your own opinion about whose version of a song you like better, but it's rude to assume that the vaselines were nothing but "catchy chorus lines with some phrases inbetween." I imagine you haven't really heard that much of their music, but they are an incredibly good indie rock band from the mid eighties.

I agree, the guitarist in the Vaselines original is great, but overall Nirvana made these songs. And they covered A LOT. Molly's Lips, Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam, Son of A Gun, I'm sure there's more..
