The Vatican City, nestled within Rome's historic centre, is the world's smallest sovereign state and is led by the Pope.
The Vatican City queues were quite long on this day and as we didn't have pre-booked tickets and did not have time to wait as it was quite cold. We will have to go inside on another trip but for today we walked around the circumference.
The ‘Spanish steps’ in Rome, were built in Rococo style between 1723 and 1726, are the steps that lead from the Piazza di Spagna square to the French monastery church Trinita dei Monti (built between 1502-1587). There are 135 steps and three different terraces, referring to the Holy Trinity (the Trinità). The top of the stairs near the Egyptian obelisk offers a beautiful view, albeit one shared with throngs of other tourists.
The Spanish Steps were covered with beautiful colorful plants which made it seem like a fairytale.

Rome, the eternal city. We've got a picture of the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain with no people in the picture except for my wife. We had to get up at 5am to get it though. We stayed at Suite Sistina which is 2 minutes from the top of the Spanish Steps. The Mouth of Truth was also a must do on any trip. We love Rome. Thanks for sharing.

I know now that if I want to get a good video or picture, I need to be there VERY early - there were so many people it was hard to get around them and capture the beauty. I'm still learning. Sometimes viewers want to watch videos with people in them, yet it's hard to have it all. Especially when I have to rely on public transport. You did well though to capture only your wife in the photo. Have an amazing rest of the week.

@toseetheworld I agree, you accept that people are part of the picture. But it was nice to see it without just like on the film. I think it was called 'three coins in the fountain'. Even back then they must have closed off all the streets. Such a beautiful city. Thanks for sharing.
