Elvis was the greatest and no one in music history has had annual tributes on the scale he has...and that's no one. It was massive in Australia too! I was about to turn 11. It was the 17th morning in Australia when I woke up hearing my mother saying Elvis dead...he died over night Oz time. From there on TV and Radio it went on for months. A media identity anonymously paid for a monument to be built in the Melbourne General Cemetery. It’s there to this day. People were in shock, crying and my older brothers shattered. We will never forget Elvis down under. If not for Covid I’d be there this year.
