VISION
We have to stop wasting our planet’s resources. CO₂ emissions must be reduced, with immediate effect. We have decided to take matters into our own hands by making clean mobility affordable for all. For you and for generations to come.
THE SION
The Sion is the first series-produced car that can additionally charge its battery using solar power. A car that charges itself - a Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV).
The Sion is equipped with a 54 kWh battery, which corresponds to a total range of up to 305 km. Additional range is also provided by the solar panels, seamlessly integrated into the body of the car. These are able to harness the power of the sun and generate up to 245 km (average 112 km) per week of additional range at peak. Solar charging will be available whilst driving, to enable the most efficient use of daylight hours.

not wuite on topic, but looking at the Sion charge door, there is just a CCS, was the secondary type-2 port removed? or just not in this unit. would you have to use a male-male type 2 cable to charge other vehicles?

There is a second latch covering the Type-2 component.

@@slickvisualpoetry yeah so the CCS port has a type 2 component, but in older prototypes there was a standard CCS port and a separate Tpye 2 port. there is a "male" and a "female" port, the ends arent the same, so I'm wondering how you're going to charge another car using the top part of a CCS plug without having a male to male cable

@@Mobile_Dom Type 2 is bidirectional. For 11kW output maybe a CEE female adapter needed because other machine don't have type 2 connectors. Or the "Schuko" is now CEE.

Hello and thank you for the beautiful project 🙂 Would it be possible to manually program the main ECU in order for the driver to be able to choose from various amperage supply power levels to the motor please? Like for instance, I would like to drive in a super eco mode, with about no more than 25% of the amperage, BUT I still have the option of kick-back, which will supply full electrical power to the motor output ... And such various power levels to be programmed through a menu on the screen.

I don't see the type 2 input inside the charging unit, is there no possibility more to charge another EV with 11 Kw from the sion sono? And when the first sion sono come to Europe?

I am looking for an electric replacement for my Renault Espace 1 that I drive since 1985 and still is going strong. I drive a Renault Espace first model, designed to be versatile and lasing many years. *How many years is the Sono Sion supposed to last and what is the expected lifetime of the batteries? *Can all seats be taken out to fit large objects and will an airbed (say 1.50 x 2.00) fit in it behind the 2 front chairs? *Will it be possible to use appliances like a cooling box that have an cigaretlighter plug? *The expected price has gone up several times. Will the price continue to go up after I paid for the reservation of my Sono Sion? *Is it possible to get a reservation for 1 Sono Sion for myself and a second Sono Sion for my friend?

Ich gebe es auf, nicht einmal mehr deutsche Untertitel... auch im Nachgang nicht, dabei bin ich so am Entwicklungsfortschritt interessiert. Das Englisch des Fachmanns kann ich leider kaum verstehen. Möchte mal jemand eine "Drittlösung" anbieten?? ;-)

Die VCU ist das zentrale Steuergerät im Fahrzeug. Es koordiniert alle Fahr- und Ladefunktionen, sowie die Kühl- und Klimaregelung. Diese Funktionen werden nun geprüft, ob sie der Spezifikation von Sono entsprechen. Ab und an muss die Spezifikation aber auch angepasst werden... es ist wie im richtigen Leben ;)

Currently they plan second half of 2023. However, when their plans would work the Sion would be in production for years. Consider it blah blah until proven otherwise.

Am besten reservieren! Im Moment steigen die Preise überall ca 40% bei Autos! Dass ist bei gebrauchten ähnlich! Es ist eine extreme Geldentwertung -Inflation- 😢im Gange!

Please do not make the vehicle black matte. It has to be glossy black, even if it's not efficient. Matt looks like someone painted it with a spray can. glossy it would certainly look much better

Zielgruppe dieses Videos sind die Anleger in den USA. Die sollen die Aktie kaufen, damit Sono auch mal was anderes als die Community melken kann. 242 Millionen bis zum Serienstart wachsen nicht auf Bäumen.

Ich glaube, das wird nix mit dem Sion und mir. Will hinten Hundis mitnehmen und die Kofferraumöffnung ist hoch (70cm lt Daten) und dann noch so ein komisches Plastikboard. Schade! Vielleicht hätte man mal lieber an die Millionen HundehalterInnen gedacht statt an Leute, die im Auto schlafen möchten!

Wenn die da wirklich Schrittketten reinklimpern (State machine) haben die mind. 1-2 Dekaden verpennt. Ist aber kein Problem, wenn die Firmware open source und dokumentiert ist, nur etwas mehr Arbeit. 🥲

@@maggi01nbg Eine zeitgemässe Progammierung ohne Schrittketten mit der ich z.B. in den letzten 30 Jahren hunderte von Sondermaschinen, Förder- und Verfahrenstechnikanwendungen nachhaltig zum Laufen bekommen habe. Holt Euch Leute aus der Praxis und nicht von der Uni. Gibt es auch in Süddeutschland.

@@nordsued-gefaellenord-sued1114 Es wird sehr schwierig das über die Kommentarfunktion auszudiskutieren. Nur soviel: manchmal (insb. DC Laden) fordert das die Norm. Ich sehe auch kein Nachteil einen Zustandsautomat zu implementieren (z.B. beim Gangwechsel P, R, N, D)

@@maggi01nbg Schrittketten sind aus den 60ern, als es zu wenig Schütz / Relaiskontakte gab. Machen Sinn bei Waschmaschinen und einigen Verfahrenstechniken, sonst eher nicht. Welche Norm fordert denn so etwas? Hauptsache Ihr bekommt es zum Laufen. Vielleicht hat der Herr sich ja auch bei der Vokabel vergriffen. Mehr machen wir am Besten per mail.

@@nordsued-gefaellenord-sued1114 klingt interessant. aber is das bei sps programmierung nicht auch so dass man da mit schrittketten programmiert? und ich dachte, dass das state-pattern voll cool sein soll? wird doch immer von den objektorientierungs leuten vorgebetet. hast du vielleicht einen link wo das vergliechen wird, state vs nonstate? kann mir da grad nix drunter vorstellen.
