this is a music video created by me and my friend for our Media course.
We used face paints, Mac's, Einstein wigs, suits, water, shark bone, anything we could get our hands on for a under budget music video.
We do not in any way hold any originality for the song. There is the bands official music video, and then we made a spin off.

I was going through 90's hits with my 12 y\o this song hits way different than it did in 10th grade. Back then I had no idea how dark it was. It's heartbreaking thinking of the mistakes you make in your youth. I added it to my playlists but I don't usually keep sad songs on there for long.

This song has a special meaning for me,it hits Too Close to home. My girl took a Months worth of Valium one day,and another half bottle after that,she was Very Much as the girl described in the song,she Was a punk who Rarely ever took advice,had to call the ambulance on her,she was in psych-ward for 3 months. In that single event she sealed her own fate And mine as well,she didn't die but was never the same again,the girl I fell in love with had changed overnight,and all because she was caught shoplifting and freaked out while sitting at the police station,How she ever took well over 120 pills I'll never know... It haunts me still,and we have a son together,she and I both suffered from depression but she finally went too far. In the song he's referring to a girl him and a friend were both kind of dating back and forth,and that she ended up pregnant but had an abortion,i lived the Real-Life part of the song man,those were Very difficult and dark days that would follow. That was over 13 yrs ago now,but still haunts me when i hear this song,Good Job on the video art btw,not bad at all man!! Keep em rolling!

Yeah it hits hard, I've lost a number of friends to suicide, now as a firefighter in New zealand I respond to them, I have seen so much hurt at times I blow put to release what sits upon my shoulders, remember at the darkest and coldest time sunrise follows and tomorrow can be a better day so hold on

This song reminds me of a boyfriend who dumped me after 2 years.. Long time ago but I felt so bad I wanted to die. When I listen to this it reminds me of how selfish that x was like this guy.. A. Broken heart never goes away . It makes me nauseous when I listen but I keep coming back to listen again and feel for that girl who fell in love and got hurt so bad she took her own life and he goes on like hey not my fault she fell in love . He didn’t love her he just used her . I wonder if this was written from experience .

I'm also reminded of this. *Not Beautiful* by unknown author She was not beautiful. She was plain and average. She did not stand out in a crowd. She met herself a young rebel boy and fell in love. He met a woman and fell in love, but he did not know how to win her heart. So she helped him. She told him when to speak, when to kiss her, when to hold her. It wasn't perfect, but it made her happy that he was happy. She was not beautiful. Then one day tragedy befell her precious guy friend. The news came that his love had left him for someone else. She held him, and consoled him. She would be there for him, and help him get through it. Oh how she wanted him...but she was not beautiful. In time and with his friend, he got through his heartache. Then one day he realized how special she was, and how beautiful as well. He began to see her as an object of perfection. He thought for a while what to do. How would it affect their friendship. Finally he decided to go to her, and tell her how he feels, that he loved her. So he went to her, but there was no answer. He realized he had missed his chance. He had overlooked her and now she was gone. One day he learnt why she disappeared. She was ill and passed away. He cried for days, not knowing what to do - knowing he would never see her beautiful face again.

Well I think the songs about a dude who doesn't want to get married and has his gf get an abortion. "Stop a baby's breath, and a shoe full of rice? No." . Rice is traditionally thrown at weddings. And so she ODs because of the guilt and dies. "girl took a weeks worth of valium and slept"

The idea of the project back in the day was to manipulate the meaning of a song. So yes the real meaning is clearly not there. However what would be the point of re-creating the same original music video?
