Yea, I don’t like that people are letting what they believe is a snub take away from America’s nomination. Personally, I don’t think Margot was snubbed as the role didn’t even require much from her. …but to say, oh they didn’t “get” the film cuz they nominated Ryan as if they only nominated Ryan 🙄

I kind of see that point but really, let's be honest here, if you think back, what were the performances that stood out from that film? It was Gosling and Ferrera who stole the show. Robbie had the unfortunate burden of being the sort-of-archetype of "the vanilla protagonist" that didn't get the juicy monologues or funny musical scenes.

@@shadysorkin9214 America & Ryan's performances weren’t necessarily Oscar worthy-but HOW MANY men & women in film this year had major standout [SUPPORTING] performances/roles? It's about how many people you're competing against within your respective field of nomination. There were a the sea of [LEADING] women that were delivering on screen this year. Margot just had more competition against her compared to America & Ryan who had way less contenders to compete against and bagged easy nominations. They consider themselves citizens of their tribal nation which are sovereign nations. So a tribe in Mexico and America doesn't matter because they are a citizen of their tribal nation. So yes, Yalitza was the first woman native to The Americas nominated for an Oscar (acting category).

Boy, this segment shows the average Viewer that if the View hosts are this sloppy & lazy about their movie research; then how can you trust their opinions overall on political and important matters. 2 cases in point: 1. America Ferrera was nominated for Barbie in the Best Supporting Actor category. She was a woman that was nominated for that film; and it was her character that delivered the heart of the message of that film. 2. Zone of Interest is a UK film; and not German. Yes, the Actors were German, and the film was in German, but it was a British film shot on location in Auschwitz. I was also disappointed that Attorney Sunny did not talk about Legal Drama Anatomy of Fall -- my favorite movie of 2023 -- because you think that this would have been a film that would have resonated with her.

I doubt you'd notice an objective truth if it bit you right in the face!!! Blaming Israel for the lack of the Palestinian state and killings Hamas creates is the equivalent of complaining the Jews caused Hitler to take the Sudetenland and create a secret agreement with Stalin to divide Poland! The Nazis certainly tried it, even going so far as to shoot this weird movie footage in the ghettos right before implementing the Final Solution after dressing up some to look like wealthy people fatted on rich food having parties while the rest starved (even though they were obviously just as emaciated as everyone else). So, it worked about as well as your statement here and the usual whataboutism for anything less than from the river to the sea! It's odd, though, that even if the Israelis were completely to blame for evil actions associated with that nonsense you spit, a "bad" year triggering press coverage was going over 100 deaths, with most down in double digits. Do you want to know how many Muslim women in the region die ANNUALLY from stabbings in so-called honor killings and stoned to death for sex "crimes" (even if raped)?!?!? FIVE THOUSAND!!! All those years and all those women, but it's Israel that are the murderers of Muslims?!? Do something about those numbers, and maybe you'll get pulses running on the evils of Israel!

Sunny didn’t have to say that to Alyssa, it was rude.

Wow Sunny - 'that says something about you' NOT NICE - seriously, Alyssa puts up with A LOT with the ladies on the panel. I would never be a republican, even if I were American, so ideologically/politically, I am more aligned with Sunny, but her repeated and disrespectful disdain of an intelligent, reasonable and analytical mind such as Alyssa's based purely because of her politics is unfair and unlikable. Please stop the snide comments Sunny!

Look, I wish Greta and Margot were nominated too, but I don’t think we should look at this as a sexism thing. A woman was nominated for Best Director, as was a woman for acting in Barbie, and giving the most feminist monologue of the year. Female-centric movies like Anatomy of a Fall and Nyad over-performed, and the only major nomination Poor Things missed was for one of the guys in the movie. So to me, they’re just normal snubs. This is actually one of the most feminist Oscar lineups we’ve ever had.

😊 Opp fans mad respect to Barbie, the film wouldn't have been successful without Barbie. Even Ken proved that! LOL

Oh, my gosh, I was thinking the _exact_ same thing! What a hypocrite. I've not seen Joy even once speak up on behalf of Palestinians, Sunny is the only one in their corner. It's shameful.

Its hard to tell if Whoopi didnt mention The Color Purple because of her feelings of it and her and Oprah or because the film only got one nomination. It could be both.

Everyone is saying the same thing about Barbie. “oh Ryan got a nom but not Margot”. They seem to equate the two roles and categories. It is so unbelievably frustrating lol Ryan and America both got a nomination in the supporting category. It isnt like Ryan got nominated over/instead of Margot.

Would love for Flowers of the Moon to be given recognition. Didn’t see the movie but I hope it does well. Saw Barbie and Oppenheimer. Wonderful movies. It would be so wonderful if Princess Catherine of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 could present an award who is absolutely stunning but she’s recuperating ❤️‍🩹 from her abdominal surgery. She’s so stunning and I wish that Sunny and Sara would recognize that but they are about Royal so there you have it. Princess Catherine of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 is stunning in every way and if she were to show up on the View (which she never would) she would stand out and be more beautiful than anyone in the room. Love her here in So. Cal USA 🇺🇸 stunning!
