Sunny Hostin should apologize for being a racist. I know people think that you can't be racist against white people, but let's call it what it is. Discriminating against someone because of the color of their skin is racist, regardless of what color that skin is. Sunny Hostin wants to claim that Caitlin Clark is popular because of pretty privilege, white privilege, or tall privilege. And that just comes off sounding ridiculous, especially when she says tall privilege since it is the WNBA and they're ALL TALL. She's popular because she has talent and is setting records. Period.

@donaldsink8115

I totally agree. The marketing geniuses at both Nike and Wilson see CC as their next Jordan and LeBron. They're investing millions of dollars in her. It's only going to be a short time before other players are going to start reaping the financial gains she's creating. It may not be on the same level, but it's more than they would have gotten without her. From a marketing standpoint there's not another player who's moved the needle more than CC. The last sell out venue that the WNBA played was in 2001. Her first game sell out and ever team she plays the same. She brings a level of excitement to the game that no other player brings. At this point today she is the Jordan of the WNBA. I think she has already forced some of the other players to become better. When someone challenges you to become better it's a win ,win for both you and the people around you. The other teams are playing to sell out or almost venues are something unheard of just last year because of the better games being played.

She is a genuine phenomenal player. All time great. However, Pete Maravich played only 3 years (freshman unable to play Varsity at the time) and w/o a 3 point shot (none in the game at that time) and no shot clock. Any mention of CC w/o mention of Pete Maravich is rally misleading entire generation/s unnecessarily - when they could know and learn just how difficult and important her achievement is. His record stood from 1970 until Catlin broke it recently. Pete played 83 NCAA games - averaged 44.2 ppg and scored 3667 points. Former LSU coach Dale Brown charted every one of Petes shots over his 3 years. If his shots from 3pt range had been counted as 3 pts, Maravich's average would have been 57 pts per game for a total over 3 years of 4731 pts. The fact that only Catlin Clark has achieved more, in the realm of what Pete Maravich did over 50 years ago, only underscores just how great she is.

So is Sunny saying pretty privilege refers to there's never been a good looking white female baller???or is it that her looks are more preferable then black basketball players ??

They’re talking about the W not college… in the W She’s 32% from 3, 40% from the field and has just as many turnovers as assist in the WNBA…. I’m a fan, it’s early, she’s gonna get better, they need her just like the NBA needed Mike in the late 80’s. All of this I agree with. But we gotta let the women adjust to the league before we crown her the goat…

Based on her comments, is she labeling Griner as the example of "not pretty"? Regardless of what anyone thinks, that's quite inappropriate. I guess she thinks it's ok to be petty and hurtful from that nasty table she sits at.

The problem is the media is so vested in CC to do great they are not mentioning the other rookies. It’s really not fair to CC if you think about it. All the focus and attention is all on her. The machine is all behind her everywhere you look to the point they don’t want the girls to play defense on her. Well anyway this is what is going to happen the fever coach will get fired and they will hire CC old coach. That’s what her fans want but college is different from the pros. All I can say is have patience.

They hate because they can't match up. CC is on another level. Plays like a dude, but is straight, and White. In the WNBA that's a three-ring target on her back.

Miss Clark has more basic fundamental basketball skills in her little figure than the full grown women have in their entire body. But, after all is said and done it’s still the WNBA!

Before Clark women's basketball was nothing but a big flop. You should be thankful for the most talented player there's ever been in basketball unfortunately for the black players there's nothing but jealousy.

I’ve never been an extremely talented basketball player, though I love to play and played, but I do know what it’s like to go into a situation where there is a strange component to where you are working and everyone hate you because of your skin color and because you work hard. The managers firm with the bully. I will pray for her because they are going to try to test her and isolate her. I hope that’s not true. I hope there are people there with goodness but good luck to her. They don’t like her because she’s white and all of their feelings about that. I have nothing to do with that and I know the feeling. It’s crazy. I know it was like that before I got there and I have a feeling if nobody fixes it it will be like that when I leave.
