Bart Starr was the Tom Brady of the 60s. He was spectacular and it’s such a shame that he is criminally underrated amongst THE greatest QBs/players to ever suit up. RIP legend.

Rich's remembrance/eulogies to Bart Starr and Bill Buckner today, are prime examples of why this show is EASILY my favorite radio show. Not just sports talk shows, but all of radio. Sad weekend for sports fans, but eloquently delivered by Mr. Eisen, as always. PS: Nothing but respect to Dan P & the Danette's, and the crew at First Thing's First, but Rich and his crew are the king's.

It is inevitable, but we've lost some GREAT ones of late. The Packers have been hard hit, with Taylor, Gregg, and Starr. Ted Lindsay and Don Newcombe are 2 more recent losses.

@@eliduttman315 very good point, a veritable wing of Canton has been laid to rest this year.

I grew up in Superior, WI. A friend of my sister was an Asst. Trainer with the Packers one spring training. He wrote my sister and said, 'Bart Starr stood in line so I could tape him'. He stood in line so a 19-year old kid could tape him. How f***ing great is that?

Only quarterback to lead his team to three consecutive championships.

I can still hear Ray Scott in my head caling a Packer game with Bart Starr at QB. As a NE fan I love me some TB12, Starr is the real comparison to the GOAT.

Wow Kevin you are a true fan of the game and a gentleman. My hat is off to you.

Many compare Brady to Joe Montana, but the better comparison is to Bart Starr. Neither has/had a great arm, but through will and intelligence they both got the job done when it mattered most.

I'm the only qb with three straight championships ..... Anybody ?

Bart Starr had two of the GOAT coaches & “won playoffs” when the league wasn’t really integrated. The nfl didn’t really become truly integrated until about 1970. Brady is the GOAT Period Richie.

Not really. Check Starr's lifetime stats - YAC, QB rating, post-season wins, leading the league in passer rating, post-season stats... there's a very compelling argument Starr was the best yet. He gets a bad rap as a "field general" alone - not true.
