Such a unique sounding amp. One of my all time favorite amps. Rings like a bell barks like a dog.

Very well narrated documentary about this amp. Back when I was 18 years old in 1974 I picked up a used AC30 and a black Les Paul deluxe copy with three humbuckers made by CSI for about sixty quid if I remember correctly. I still kick myself today for selling that amp!

Mike, I'm way past live performing now (due to health reasons), but I still crave the sound of my AC30s! That's the reason for switching to the lighter weight VOX Valvetronix amp. Who else better knows the AC30 sound!

Cool bud. I have the a valvetronix too.
@chrisdee50324 жыл бұрын
How do you rate the Valvetronix compared to the AC30? I'm guessing it's less troublesome for a start lol. I have an AC30 and an AC15 but wouldn't mind something a little more portable!

Memory lane: specifically 1964 thru 65. Red/Pink Strat through Vox AC-30. No mods to the Strat. The amp was another story. First a “Top Boost” module fitted to amp. Then a second matching 2x12 speaker cab. Then amp fitted into its own enclosure. Brings a smile in my head when I think of each time I used that setup.

Chinaguitarsceptic Cheers... Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds, AWB (before they were AWB), Lulu, and so many more. Each of them way better (and exciting) LIVE than on a piece of vinyl. All in my head. Just close my eyes and there they are. Memory is better than any sound system. Keep on doing what you do . Nicely done, mate. I have a '63 AC30 and an AC30CC2, and wouldn't part with either one. They continue to stand the test of time, and paired with Rickenbacker toasters, or Gretsch Dynasonics, Filtertrons, or HiLoTrons, you're approaching tone heaven. Strats, and Teles are equally pleasing through an AC30. Only one mistake I found in your entire video, mate. There is NO argument....The Beatles are head and shoulders the greatest band of all time!! 😆😆. Cheers and keep these gems coming!!

@@Chinaguitarsceptic Ahhh...great minds think alike, brother. It's funny, but as time goes by, this seems to be a question that people have tended to argue less, and actually agree with. BTW, have you seen the album topping the NME charts, 50 years after its' first release.....I rest our case! 😆😆 Just curious, but as a fellow Englishman, albeit you're from the wrong end of the country, are there any AC30'S in the CGS's arsenal of gear, and if not, I'm curious as to why not? As you rightly state, its a part of British rock history, and a must have in the amp closet. Cheers, brother!!

The Beatles "arguably" the biggest band of all time? There's no argument. Without them, the British invasion would never have happened, and neither would have all the groups (both British and American) that followed that seminal musical event. None of the genres of rock that people loved in the following decades would have existed, and we'd all be listening to Chuck Berry, Elvis, and Buddy Holley with a nostalgic tear in our eye because the Britneys, Gagas and Mileys would rule the world.
