OMG. Ha, The Catholic Church in Quebec, so much for respecting that institution.

Not exactly! The voyageurs came after 1763 and the British conquest. Before, they were Coureurs des Bois. Geopolitics!

..."mankind" (humankind!!!!), "men" (no mention of women ever working/doing anything!!) And "white cotton harvested by black men" (women & men who were enslaved!!!!!), "...and teaching Indians the ways of white men" (more like abusing and degrading the people who saved them and taught them to survive those first winters!!!) ...all said in a sing-songy voice as if it's all so delightful. The true historical value of this film is to illustrate how messed up the values and viewpoints were then and how much we still need to change.

This Film was produced some 70 odd years ago.... so what do you expect? Things have changed a lot since then

Yes I agree things have changed a lot but we also must acknowledge how far we still must go. That's what I was communicating.

It's much later than the 1930s. Based on the cars seen in the video, it's from the early 1950s, I would guess around 1952.

Why you dishonor the true man what you call the black man? Why are you afraid to tell his important to this new world? How much of them really lost their lives? Hmm?
