For $80 you can get a useful compass, cordage, a real saw blade & save on the weight of the container.

I'm usually not one to complain about pricing on gear kits, but $80 really does seem to be a rip-off for that thing.
@ShadeSlayer1911
@ShadeSlayer1911 Жыл бұрын
Most kits are probably going to be overpriced, considering the cost of the individual supplies and that the companies need to make profit. The kits that seem to have a gimmick about them probably use that gimmick to increase the charge even more.

in a pinch you could boil some water in the cilinder, but for much less money you could buy the stanley shot glass cup and use the similar cilinder, which contains the steel cups, to create your own mini survival kit with a small boilling cilinder.

Looks to be decent quality but $80 is pretty crazy, best glide ASE pocket survival kits (which ever flavor you want) are like half that cost and have a lot more useful equipment included.

I know the argument is always that you pay extra for the company to pick and pack a ready-made kit, but 80 bucks!! Paracord, string, razor blade compass, and wire saw. No way
@BeercanBushcraft
@BeercanBushcraft Жыл бұрын
No it's not worth the money - in my opinion. Six feet of paracord is a pisstake. The handles on the survival saw are not as good as quality rings. It's a gear concept for people who have money to burn. Good review as per usual - All the very best to you and yours 👍 👍 👍 🍻 🍻 🍻

Vssl kits (all of them) looks good, but the container costs 8-10.times more than the actual gear and the gear is not even intresting, razor blade is around 25¢, cordage is 2-3$, a cheap wire saw is 3$, a premium quality compass is like 30-40$, but its not even close. I always love to see your videos, but this is the worst kit we saw in this channel.

I feel like they are making fun of me. $80 if you break down say $40 for the tube. That leaves string a razor blade a few feet of para cord and 2 bins for $40. For real what about that is survival. The most important things are water and fire. I can see now in a accident and everyone is checking gear “ I have string and a razor blade “ probably end up being the first person they eat. Then to add insult to injury they tie me up with my own string.

I´m disappointed. I thought from the optic that this is a water container, maybe even for boiling water, with a "one day" pack inside. Why such a durable package for things that need no real protection.When a "hard" package for your survival stuff then something with a function. My "medium" pack is my aluminium water bottle(which can be used for boiling water) and my "big" pack is my Bundeswehr (German Army) Cooking gear.

Curious if it’s cheaper in Canada . Canadians pay significantly more for U.S gear than we do . Maybe there’s a duty fee tacked on that bumps the price up . 50 $ would seem more appropriate.

The thing about the higher price, is because of higher taxes in Kanada. If you think it's bad here, go up north. My friend lives just outside of Toronto, and he's moving his family down here to Texas next month. They've had it with the liberal BS and being taxed up the wazoo. Too bad they don't move their company south of the border, and then these would be more in line with pricing and profit margins that end users would be okay with. Keep up the great work.

some of these premade kits are highly priced but could be worth it if youre starting from scratch, but this one is unequivocally not worth the price. thats $20 worth of gear max. when compared to the bestglide ase kits (i learned about from your channel i might add) this REALLY seems like a grift, you could get 2 of the medium Bestglide kits for this price.

I’ve always been a fan of the VSSL concept but not the price. I’ve tried to replicate the VSSL and can do it cheaper but not better. The homemade version is significantly more bulky and way heavier. VSSL’s stuff is hard to beat and nearly impossible to replicate on the cheap. Nice review on a small kit.
