Hello, Ex Volkswagen salesman here! I left VW just as these were coming out and a launch spec was my last demonstrator. I hated the seats which were uncomfortable and unsupportive, but the silliest thing was, when you see a T-Roc parked next to Golf you realise how little it was” raised” when you compare the rooflines.

Glad someone said it. I've had mates in their 20s lusting over these. It's a real sickness

Recently I heard someone say: "We bought an SUV because we needed the cargo space!" ...I was almost laughing!

James, in Canada VW discontinued the estate models in order to bring to the public "What they want". We even had an all road version of the Golf estate that was exactly like you mentioned. CUV and SUV's will be the death of us all. Thank you for your public rant. It validating our shared view.

The sad thing is that cars like this killed the MPV and mini MPV. The MPV may not have been exciting but they were at least designed and engineered to be practical family transport. Now the supermini, the hatchback and saloon are under threat by fashion.

Yes, you’re 100% right about these kind of cars. And the T-Roc convertible really looks like a bath tub, especially in white.

Unfortunately Jay, you are among the few youtubers and journalist which has a critical approach. The wast majority of them seam to be in a competition of praises every time a new cross over is launched. This is something that makes me very sad, because the critical spirit is gone in the people around this industry (in the consumers it's completely dead). And this will one lead to more cars of questionable styling and quality. Much appreciate this review!

What Grind my gears the most about the t-rock being a ”higher golf” is that we already had one, the golf alltrack. More spacious, better towing capacity and way better mileage.

All crossovers are positively hideous and we won't look upon them particularly fondly in 25-30 years.

Thankyou for once again speaking my mind mate! The manufacturers need to listen to us. We don't want a small suv that's compromised in every way. We want small hatches, saloons, estates, 2 seaters full size proper 4x4 heavy tow vehicles.

Worked in automotive sales for a few years and I totally agree, so unnecessary the want to be higher up. Awful to see people buying suv/cross over's when there is no need 95% of the time; especially when an estate has a similar footprint, more space and better driving characteristic's. And as you said people are buying these at a phenomenal rate, boggles the mind

The whole crossover boom probably wouldn't bother me quite as much if it didn't cause automakers to scrap sedans, my beloved convertibles, and other body styles altogether. Also, killer job on the thumbnail. It's pretty much me when I see another friend or family member's purchased a crossover.

Well mine's been alright. It's a car. It starts on a morning. I dont particularly need to drive above the speed limit. I'm an average bloke ... in an average car. Nobody had died, or gone to war ... It's a car! I'm not involved in a 'Paid Promotion'. X

Fantastic video Jay and very well said. I have been saying this about the ‘Troc’ and people don’t believe me. I worked on a few of these fitting cameras. The quality of these is really poor behind the scenes. Honestly I worked on a 260k SsanYong Rexton and it didn’t feel much worse in the plastic quality stakes. Yes - it does feel ‘premium’ ish on the bits you touch but it’s very much a vase of style over substance with new VWs and they are very much flogging crap under the illusion that younare getting premium. They are absolutely average to point the of mind numbingly and if a T-reg Nissan Almera drive past it would seem very exciting! And I absolutely HATE the new touch screen controls. They’re unsafe, temperamental and stupid. There’s nothing wrong with dials and knobs.

I play a game with my partner because of all the cross-over/SUVs on the road, especially when it's the big ones, where we look at how many people are actually in them. usually just the one person driving the biggest car they possibly can as a status symbol

Arnold Shark as they're known locally :) However 32 mpg from the trip computer is pretty dismal. So many people have been chased off diesels for various reasons but those compression ignition lumps do know how to eek out a gallon. So enjoyed that James.

Just spent a week in a cousin of the T Rock (Seat Arona) and my family and I managed to live. The fact it was a rental made it clear that although the sat nav was useable, and 2 large suitcases and 1 & a half squashy bags go in the boot, I remember a Fiat 127 could fit 6 people! With 2 rucksacks and snacks back in 1975....

Spot on. I've been ranting for the exact same reasons. You're not alone. The real horror for me is that the second-hand market will be flooded with this kind of dross, and I will struggle to find my next taxi in a few years.

Very well said, seriously the SUV's/Crossover obsession is pure madness... they serve no purpose outside of inflating egos and somehow making money for car-makers. Also cosidering that, apart for a few models wich are actually minivans in disguise, almost all of these are just more polluting variants of their better "normal" car counterparts i think it's even immoral to keep pushing to market and sell this kinds of vehicles for the masses.

I find it crazy that today I walk in to the VW dealer and don't see any golf 8 in the showroom, just T-cross, taigo, T-roc, Tiguan facelift and a passat from 2015 with some facelifts. VW keeps pushing previous GEN technologies in "new" SUV's.

I hate this type of cars. Just get a station for christ sake.

Once again I find myself completely agreeing with every point made in this video. I have no idea why people want these cars aside from having accessibility issues with normal hatchbacks. I know we are an aging population but surely everyone isn't in their 80's all of a sudden? Anyway, someone needed to say something and Jay, I'm glad you did 👍.

I swear this is true. Never driven or been in one but met a friend in a car park the other day getting in one and I said something like "whats it like i like the look of that" and he said "its rubbish and going back end of lease next week and sticking with our other car, a golf" 🙂 ! We were both heading off so no time to discuss why he didn't like it.

Since you mentioned “the elderly” and dropping in, from my little experience when helping with someone’s elderly mother with hip replacements, she found the low car easier to get in and out. I had a MINI cooper and a Nissan Pathfinder and she preferred the MINI. Now, myself have a back problem and having to step up into a crossover is worse than just dropping into a regular sedan.

What do people need to "see more" by buying a car on stilts, anyway? You don't see more. All you're doing is increasing blind spots all around, not just the sides. But I guess they have to upsell that 360 camera somehow... Also: they made the kind of Golf you mention. It was first called the Golf Plus. Then it was the Golf Sportswagon. Then it was binned.

Fully agree with your opinions on crossovers. I really cannot see what the point of them is. They gain no interior space over the hatchback on which they are based and I have come across many with less. Also, because they are taller, they tend to be worse on fuel economy as the Troc proves only too well - 33mpg for a modern car of this size is disgraceful. I have just spent the last 2 weeks in a diesel Astra estate which, at 4.7m long, is not a small car. I am not of fan of it and I think it was designed by a committee with no actual interest in cars, but it was comfy enough and, in around 800 miles of mainly motorway driving it averaged nearly 64mpg. My own car is a 2.0 diesel Citroen MPV with acres of interior space and even that gives me around 45mpg in normal mixed use.

Couldn't agree more, however, with 1 caveat. I have a Skoda Yeti 170tdi 4x4 that I've had since new (2012). It's genuinely capable off-road having the "off-road" button & rough road package, & despite being shorter than a Golf, it has a 416 litre boot before you start sliding the seats forward, with the rear seats removed it's 1760 litres, fold the front passenger seat & it's a huge 2100 litres, & gets regularly used in this format. On winter tyres it has no problem climbing a local 1 in 5 20% hill in 5" of snow & it'll tow 2 tons, all capabilities I've used many times. The practicality is obviously aided by the (to me) very agreeable tonka toy 4x4 looks with its completely vertical rear & as a result you can stand or sit under the open tailgate when changing muddy boots etc. in the rain, so it's brilliantly practical for lifestylee types. Skoda lost the plot replacing it with the Karoq/Kamiq combination which, while being award winning cars (somehow), lost much of this inherent "Yetiness" that to me is central to its apeal. Mine's also remapped with Eibach springs, Bilstein dampers & Brembo brakes James, so it's fairly quick of you fancy a go. Not as quick as my Audi S3 true, but as the steering's nicer than the S3's & it's a manual, it's a far better pedal than its looks might suggesst, & in 152k miles, it's never missed a beat. Best car I've ever owned. Whilst I'm not really a fan of these new Crossovers because the majority don't justify their extra bulk or running costs with added capabilities, they do share 1 thing with the Yeti though, I don't need to curl up to get in!

While watching this video I got an advert for the new T-Roc, and one of the features that VW decided to proclaim was the new haptic "multi-function steering wheel"

Couple of points, my mum with a couple of herniated disks and needing a hip replacement could get in and out of her Jazz well enough not to consider getting a crossover. The TSI is known in the indy trade for blowing headgaskets, I was quite surprised to hear this but with a couple of mates who own garages they both told me this.

Hi Jay, Thanks for the review. I find myself agreeing whole heartedly with your comments about the T-ROC! I can't see any real selling point for the Cross-Over class as a whole, especially if they are still 2WD and small 'economical' engines. It's a half-way house that has almost no redeeming features! Having said all this I will say I do appreciate being higher up, I'm an ex-lorry driver and I got used to the excellent views from lorry cabs and the more upright seating position that they have also. I now drive the bigger brother of the T-Roc the SEAT Tarraco with the 2.0Ltr 150ps TDi diesel and 4WD. It replaced a Passat 2.0TDi Estate car for towing our caravan. Not only does it do that extremely well, I find the more upright seating far more comfortable for long journeys. I can drive 500 miles in a day and still feel fresh at the end of it in the Tarraco, while I would be exhausted and have serious back ache when doing the same in the Passat. Jonathan.

I get blinded by oncoming traffic at night in my little Z3 and my e46. My parents swapped to a crossover from a 3er to be a bit higher and avoid being blinded, I really think that's a big part of it for older drivers.

The car for the elderly, those needing a higher seat (that's easy to get in and out of you know) was previously available from VW, the Golf Plus, then Golf SV. They actually benefited those who needed easier access as they have a taller door opening than a regular hatchback with more upright seating possible due to the higher roof, unlike the faux-by-fours that just raise the hatchback's body then stick plastic underneath it to eradicate any additional ground clearance you might gain from doing so. The smaller 5 seat MPV actually offered something over the hatchback while sitting in the same footprint. As the floor height stayed the same as the regular hatchback, you actually got a deeper (vertically) boot alongside the aforementioned more upright seating and easier access, unlike the faux-by-fours that have a larger footprint but give you nothing for it, besides an increased risk of being on your roof after a crash. The MPVs, because they keep all the heavy stuff at the same low floor height as the base hatchback, don't even do that, at least to the same degree, despite giving you things that would warrant it for those needing such features.

Golf SV owner here, it's the better engineered car, longer wheelbase than golf hatchback and unlike the Troc has independent rear suspension on all but the low powered specs (1.0 petrol & 1.6 diesel) I had a mk7 gti performance and my partner needed a higher up seating position. It's not a fun car but the boot /rear legroom is much better and it doesn't have the nasty plastic of the troc inside. It's the car almost nobody buys (well you can't now it's discontinued) because it's not fashionable however it's a car that a lot of people need. I've also had a 2wd yeti and the SV is considerably better. A 4wd yeti is still a great option with it's off road ability.

Sorry Jay. But that seatbelt bong made this possibly the funniest video you've uploaded 😂 it's actually just brightened a bad day for me.. So thank you for that! Crazy thing is it's probably merely a micro switch in the seatbelt clasp that needs a good bum fluff clean out... However a week of this (max) and I'd end up killing it with fire. Highly annoying for the driver. Highly amusing for us viewers watching you grunting and pointing at it.

I almost stopped talking to my Stepdad when he proudly announced last month that he was replacing his Mazda 6 Estate diesel with a petrol T-Roc. His reasoning was that he needed the extra ground clearance for living in Devon, and he liked VW because he owned a Passat 15 years ago. Should have bought a Golf then, or a Passat!

Remember we did have a Golf Plus or SV depending on country. However the smallest VW crossover/suv that I would have is a Tiguan Allspace as others don’t offer anything extra to the normal cars. It’s getting tricky finding the right car now due to the rise in automatics and a push for smaller engines. Soon to leave me is a 2019 Focus Active Estate with the 2l ecoblue it’s been reliable I’ve put 80k on and the raised suspension soaks up the speed bumps or potholes without effecting it much on the twistys. If it were possible I would order another but it’s engine faced a demise. So now about to get a Citroen C5 Aircross last of the manual diesels, the reasoning for such a car, big boot (for work) helps that it has sliding seats and the height should help with the now child seat.

When i was buying my mazda 3 sedan 2021, the sales man tried 3-4 time to lead me down the path of a cx 30 that basically is a mazda 3 bit taller, heavier, more expensive in the same trim. Had to basically tell him that if i was gifted a cross over , i would just sell it immediately and buy a normal car. So i do not get the idea of them at all, not a terrain vehicle, higher fuel consumption and more expensive. Only possible plus side is that it might be bit safer in some situations vs a golf or in my case a mazda 3.

Before SUVs and crossovers really started becoming popular in the UK, cars like family saloons/estates (e.g. Ford Mondeo, VW Passat, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, etc.) and MPVs/people carriers (e.g. Vauxhall Zafira, Xsara Picasso, Renault Scenic, Fiat Multipla, etc.) were the main family car used for things like dropping the kids off at school, going to the shops, family trips out to places like the beach, trampoline park, zoo, water park, the grandparents, or to wherever, etc. But not anymore. Because everyone is now buying SUVs and crossovers, those days are long gone - now it's just Nissan Qashqai this and Vauxhall Grandland that (or replace with any other SUV or crossover), with the occasional premium luxury ones like the BMW X5, Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes GLE thrown in, and various manufacturers have dropped out of the family saloon/estate and people carrier market altogether to focus on more profitable SUVs. And Alfa Romeo cancelled plans for a Sportwagon estate version of the Giulia in early 2017 in favour of the Stelvio -which would go on to sell like hot-cakes, and in late 2019, they cancelled production plans for the new GTV and 8C sports cars in favour of, you guessed it, more SUVs!

There was an official taller Golf. It was called the Golf Plus, then called the Golf SV. Looks like it finished production in 2020. My dad had one (due to a hip operation). They were great cars.

Love to hear that the VW seatbelt alarm sound has *barely* changed 18 years later. Amazing considering I live across the pond.

Regarding the higher driving position, it didn't make much sense to me until last year when I moved from my old Honda Accord to a Toyota Rav-4. I was quite surprised at how much easier it is to see nearside kerbs, drains and parked cars with the relatively small increase in height.

RoadX is an Arnold Clark special tyre I think 🤦‍♂️ you can imagine the despair when I found out it was them who changed all four discs and pads on my MX5 after I’d bought it 😢

I agree with this, as pointed out in the comments below it is a shame this type of car has killed the MPV. When I worked at Renault we sold so many Scenics because of the high seating position. The ability to get in without clambering into the car and get things out of the boot without lifting/bending too much was a godsend for people with mobility issues. We had a scenic because of the high seating position, when it came to buying our next car none of the crossovers had such a high seating position so we ended up with a proper 4x4, plus I could not bring myself to purchase one of these dreaded crossovers!

Ex arnold clark salesman here, or 'product consultant' as they call us to appear less intimidating to customers, I think people would be surprised just how little a lot of salespeople know about cars, there were 10 of us (including myself) and only I and one other had a passion for vehicles, a couple of then even expressed to me how much they dislike cars!! There are certainly a lot of sketchy stories to be told and I actually found the money wasn't even that good when considering the pressure and how boring it was day to day selling people these crappy crossovers, I used to love when somebody would come in even to just look at a m140i. 😁

I’ve got the same model , but a six speed manual. It averages about 36 around town and 50 on the motorway, which I find quite acceptable. By the way the boot floor was in the high position, lowering it gives it quite a generous amount of boot space.

These budget tyres "might" have been added by you know who, the car is nearly five years old. The MOT carried out last July shows two advisories, guess what on...?. 11:13 for some time I thought “Landsail” was jargon for cheap, crappy, dangerous tyres 😅 I only found out late last year that they were an actual brand. People don’t realise what a risk they take going for the cheapest tyres available, it could mean the difference between stopping and ploughing into another vehicle, wall, or hedge.

14:43 - Popularity is not indicative of a quality product, case in point TV shows; X-factor & celebrity love island are nothing short of trite reality TV tropes and yet they've been the most watched shows in the UK.

This gives me some sweet validation as to how I reacted when my Giulietta had the same seatbelt sensor issue. I was ready to let the thing roll into the North Sea.

These are brilliant cars, my dad bought one in 2018, he is in his late 60s and he wanted a compact car that was a little higher so he could get in and out as he has sore knees and lower back, the seat he finds really supportive for his back, he liked it so much he replaced it for a facelift model in 2022, There is nothing wrong with these cars, just because not everyone likes them.

Here in the Philippines there is literally war between MPVs and Crossovers on the “smaller SUV segment” like a Toyota Rush vs the Corolla Cross, and honestly, idk why people buy the Cross, the Rush is superior and more practical in every way, 7 seats, better fuel economy and narrower

I do enjoy a cheesed off JayEmm. Destroy 90% of the crossovers. The remaining 10% have a place sure but these useless things are a tyre short of abominations. Also. Totally agree, when I bought my Cupra ST the salesman tried to get us looking at the Ateca… why?! Crossovers and most 4x4’s are utterly pointless for the road (except for some small sections of road round here that the council have let the surface deteriorate so badly you could lose a Mini in some of the potholes 🙄). And don’t get me started about the stupid touch-screen controls in the mk8 era of everything VAG at the moment… 🤦‍♂️ Aaand breathe…. Rant over 😅

Well, Jay, I don't think that we should be too surprised by the T-Roc's popularity. We live in a world where motorhomes, hoodies, ripped jeans, facial piercing (or whatever it's called), crimson highlights and flat faced dogs are also popular. Just look at the number of people who thought it was a good idea to go out and buy a Nissan Puke, ffs!

So yeah, Arnold Clark sold me a car without a cover for the fuel and brake lines so I went a year (til next MOT)with tubes hanging in the bottom of my car that if broken would have left me either without brakes or outright in flames. Fuck you Arnold Clark ❤ And yeah I agree with you, let's buy a 40k+ car that net less than 35 to the gallon, criminally underpowered for the weight, with a small boot, and hard to place while driving in the city that makes your daughter sick. Just lovely.

I'm in my early sixties. Still working so I'm very fit and agile. My old person mentality shows when I reminisce about 'proper' cars, like sedans/saloons and station wagons/estates. My current car is a rather nice 12 year old Hyundai Elantra sedan. With a boot. Nothing special dynamically, but I don't really care - it's sleek, low-slung, and cheaper than a frumpy contemporary Corolla or a Pulsar/Sylphy with the dubious CVT. I'm not looking forward to the time I eventually have to replace it. Luckily it's only got 142,000km on it and I really only use it at the weekend. I can see a bus in my future. There is no way I would ever spent my hard earned spondies on things like the TRoc, or it's ilk. Sorry, but you're right - it's end game for me.

These cars have better ground clearance. Better at poor roads, speed bumps and parkings with steep approach angles. Yes, maybe not very useful in Europe. But definitely needed in developing nations. They are roomier than equivalent hatches. They provide better boot than sedans. The world moves to these type of car for a reason. The target for these cars are not people want to have fun driving a car.

That interior is the same quality as my Seat from 15 yrs ago

If you live in a city with smallish parking spaces and you have mobility issues or have to put up with child seats, you need a car that is similar in foot print to a regular hatchback but just a tad taller. Makes getting in and out a little easier.

Hi Jay. I love your videos in general, and the ones about cars I actually want are...more fun. But this video is...more true. Jay, if you're ever in Michigan, or I'm in the UK, your beers are on me.

In the context of Europe, these crossover things are a silly idea. However, in the context of vast regions of the world where road conditions are unpredictable, a raised hatchback makes a lot of sense - you don't need AWD/4X4, but certainly need more ground clearance. Might I recommend that you go check out the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross? It is a raised hatchback. And makes no bones about it.

Do you remember Golf Country? :-D Well, I'm so happy with my car, which is so low, that it becomes impossible to find in a parking lot. But well, it handles like a CAR. 😀

I agree on what you say. SUV's are marketed as being a safe vehicle in a crash because of their tough stance hence why you see many on a school run. I remember there was that one episode of Clarkson's Car Years where he was talking about family cars and there was a part when he was trying to figure out why people were buying the large SUV 4x4's and he came to the conclusion that yes ideal if you do live in the countryside where you may encounter occasional floods or bad roads, but for those living in towns and cities they are pointless. The only other use these SUV's have are for towing but you do need something mid to large size with a diesel engine really, not a 1.2 TSI petrol engine

It's milquetoast on 4 wheels. Herz tried to "upgrade" me into one when I needed a rental car for three weeks. I fought them hard and got downgraded to a Mini Cooper JCW.

I agree with you regarding Arnold Clark and a lot of what you mention. 3 weeks ago I took my golf to vw Arnold Clark for a service and asked them to sort the exhaust leak with new exhaust clamps, they never had any in stock so they booked me to come back the next week. £60 for the clamps and labour, which is extortionate due to them only having minimum labour being an hour. They also washed my car before they contacted me to ask if I wanted washed which I didn't and noticed they had damaged my sunstrip with the pressure washer and unsurprisingly they did an awful job washing it. The next day, the exhaust was leaking again so had to book it in for the Friday for checking. They couldn't fit me in or sort it that day so they've now booked me to come back in for the 28th of this month to try and fix the leaking exhaust, again. 🤦‍♂️ P.s. my first car, a Peugeot 207, had the same seat sensor issue with the rear seats and would really piss me off when the seat belt warning bong would come on.

We've just bought a Puma, as we've had a new baby and you try getting prams/car seats/other paraphernalia in the back of a hatchback or supermini. That's another reason people get them. We wanted something with a bit more space (which, unfortunately equals bigger usually) but wasn't like commanding a land yacht. I do take your point about it being strange that people want to be high up nowadays. It used to be that everyone wanted to be low down, like in a sports car. With the electric car thing, people go for big partly because of the lack of choice in the smaller sector (manufacturers just aren't making many small electric cars) and the relatively high cost. Until recently, I have driven Corsas and Vauxhall are one of the few manufacturers to really push an electric version of a popular small car (see the demise of the Fiesta) but, really, it's far too expensive for what it is and you might as well save your money and buy a petrol version, if you want that car. I think some of it is that if people are spending £25k then they might as well get more space or a bigger car for their money. We've got an EV point as well but it just isn't cost-effective at the moment. Before the new addition I would have got an EV but, as I say, too expensive.

Drove a Tiguan recently, I never really understood drivers not paying attention on the road and sitting on their phones. That car like this one is just okay, there was some very questionable materials in that as well. I now understand why people now pay no attention when driving and go on phones, because of dross like the Tiguan and this.

You are right about that, they are everywhere. But judging like the guy in the joke seeing a Ferrari / Porsche and saying: - They are not very good cars, are they? I don't see a lot on the road, They must be quite good cars afterall.

Recently I have changed my Car and bought a cheap 2009 Honda Civic, the triangular exhaust one. Having a family of four and previously having a Mk1 Qashqai, the boot space is better on the Honda, it handles better than the Qashqai and despite the bigger engine the MPG is way better in the Honda. Only downside is the ride is firmer. Think my time in SUVs is done.

Funny provocative video Jay but as a new owner of a T-Cross I absolutely love the car. Sure it’s not very refined but it drives very well and I’ll tell you why many of us like the raised driving position: it makes the journey more interesting and comfortable than sitting almost at road level. It’s also more roomy and practical for city driving and long journeys. I’m speaking as a former owner of a Golf 6 Cabriolet which was a fabulous car.

Hi My wife had the 2 litre R trim. We have just sold it after 4.5 trouble free years, just 23k miles. It was an excellent car. 4 motion good in snow as required and it only list £1800 a year in depreciation. Dropping it into sport it was very lively. In the life of the car we got 40 mpg. The 2 ltr R line (trim) comfortable, quick in its class. Sad to part with it. Just needed an estate. Golf clubs etc. Bought a 2ltr MSport 3 series touring demonstrator.

Great video as usual James. Personally I think VW has lost the plot since the Mk7 Golf. Had a T-Roc as a courtesy car when my Golf GTE was in for a service and it felt like a big step backwards. As you say these do sell well (for some unknown reason!) and VW need to make money after Dieselgate. Cost cutting is in evidence everywhere....

My Girlfriend has it as company car. U were right - the 1.5 turbo is thirsty ! I was surprised about an average of 8 liters per 100 km in normal drive mode ! Thas really bad. But worst for me are the seats ! Its damn cheap. I asked a driving school teacher which has the same t-roc life version and he said : take a seat pillow with, than its somehow survivable :-D Advice for any buyers- take the 2.0L diesel. 6 liters in average and way more fun to drive. And yes, golf is better !!!

We upgraded from a Mercedes A Class (the old upright W169 model) to a dreaded SUV because the A Class had a massive 435 litre boot (seats up) . We went for the VW T Cross (T Rocs little brother) because it's boot is a suitably massive 445 litres. Yes I would have liked a Golf but the boot is TEENY in comparison (381 litres) . Most SUVs, I admit have also got small boots which makes them a silly choice...I need 445 litres to get my kit in without it being on display to every low-life out there.... I'm willing to give up handling and zippiness for what is, essentially, a works van with 5 seats and electric windows.

You are sooo right. Micha from Germany, grown up with VWs. These are just of the size they want us to get used to with their electric cars. But what about a (Hunday I 30 N performance dual clutch gearbox and its really loud exhaust)? As you know, Germans are involved there, and this has a real handbreak. Try it. For me as a man with special needs, it really is a good automatic car.

can someone anyone tell me explain in plain English how this 2023 Troc is in anyway better than my Volvo V70 2.4 manual ? the Volvo is bigger..can carry most white goods. can carry 5 adults in leather ... the sound system is fabulous the panel fit and finish is still great after 300,000ks .you cannot hear the engine..it can achieve 1000ks to a tank of premium fuel.. it handles very well on 17- 7.5" wheels ..the ride is great and it will go for another 300,000ks ..So where is the progress in 20+ years ?????
