At one point in my life i was a truck driver and went through The Virginias but, i never enjoyed the scenery as much as you are. What a blessing!!

That place you are staying is AMAZING!! Those stone walls! If you like Harpers Ferry, check out Jim Thorpe, PA if you ever get the chance. Very similar, beautiful, pretty and a ton of history! Be safe, rest up and enjoy the thru hike when you resume!

Too funny! I'm half asleep, trying to suck down some coffee, grab my phone and saw you on ScrewTube. Happily watching I notice your old shoes and thought "didn't I see that before"... lol. Then noticed "extended" on the description! Thought I might have puffed a bit much last nite! 😜 Rob, I'm so glad you're filming your adventure. Ty, really. I turn 60 in Nov., body says 80 but my brain says 25! Your willingness to deal with a camera allows me (and others?) to see things we will not be able to experience ourselves. Safe travels young man! I can’t express to you how proud I am of you and that I get to follow along with your journey!! This is the best thing on KZfaq that I can think of!! Please be getting advice on the winter months and such and be thinking of the warm stuff you may need. I don’t want to be worrying about you in the cold or this heat for that matter!! Please stay safe Rob and don’t hesitate to stay in town whenever possible! I want you to be safe and comfortable! You should not be in any hurry. There is soooo much beauty and self reflection to be had on this journey and I am PROUD to be a small part of it!! Just be safe in all you do!!

Rob I truly enjoy following you and your KZfaq videos . Journeyman Jim here , I spent 2 Christmas’s in Harpers Ferry doing some shake down hikes before retiring in 2020 and starting my A T journey from GA - Maine section hiking thru 12 of 14 states and finishing up in 2024 . I reside in Murrells Inlet South Carolina just south of Myrtle Beach . Love to meet up with you sometime & Share life stories ! : )

10:15. Very cool Rob. I live in Seaside, Oregon. The end of the trail for the Lewis and Clark expedition. Just a few miles south of their winter camp at Fort Clatsop. And just a couple blocks from the beach where they came down for a few weeks or days (can't remember) to make salt out of the ocean water for the return expedition. There is a little replica here of the saltworks. It's not much, but I've always appreciated it and the history it's honoring. Give it a look if you ever find yourself in the PNW. Cheers.

Dude, Harper's ferry is world famous! What an awesome cool place to be. Know the history of where your going, you will appreciate what your looking at than learning it as you go. I went to stone's river national battlefield in Murfreesboro Tennessee and did the tour, then read about it. I was backwards. Read then see, so much more appreciation. Awesome, job on the tour, I will be visiting Harper's ferry soon, Thank you brother!!!

Haven't been to Harpers Ferry since I was a kid. Thats 3 states right there, Va across the river and when you went across the train bridge I believe you were in Md. I see its about other things like Lewis and Clark it used to be all about John Brown yrs ago.

Beautiful town!! I really enjoyed starting and stopping the video so I could read all the plaques. It took me an hour and a half!! I learned alot and I have been to Harper's Ferry!! Thank You so much! Your videos are great! If I may ask, what brand/model of phone are you using? I am sure I would not have such a steady hand. Personally, I enjoy natural history museums the most. A first for you? I am sure you are heading for many more. Love the shoes! I have several pairs of that brand. They will serve you well. Onward!!

I live directly on the Mississippi in Iowa. It is amazing how all small river towns look the same. A lot of them seem to be filled with antique shops. The American Pickers shop is actually quite close to where I live. One complaint about this one though. I didn't see any Harpers or Ferrys?
