Hardest part about this job is trying to get the truth out of managers/employees. They’ll swear no one ever leaves doors/drawers open. Weird since when I got here 3 drawers were wide open on the cooks line

What about a switch on the door that is connected to a timer with an alarm so after so long then it will set a beeper alarm off . Also put a keyed switch so the manager can turn off the beeper while they are loading the freezer .

Like I mentioned in the past, just charge the customer more money for your hassle of coming out there because of their open door policy. But in the future, I would suggest telling the customers now it’s requirement to have door monitors and sensors on there because the manufacturers made it that way. Tell him it’s cheaper if they just go ahead and do as you suggest if not, it cost twice as much. Don’t baby them.

10:28 - I’ve seen you use MQ in many of your videos and I’m learning ifrom you n bits and spurts how to use it on refrigeration even though Bergman’s focus for the app is on HVAC. Your explanation of the many MQ results has helped me better understand how to effectively us the app for walk-in coolers (we have several in the department.) I think i would not be the only one who would benefit from a MeasueQuick guide video from you showing for instance probe placement which refrigeration class you chose, the design temperature difference used as well as, maybe customizing to a 50%RH in the box (not listed as a choice of refrigeration type). Good idea?

Good construction is vital. Some time ago I had to repair some equipment, made by local firm. It was insane - every thing was on nut, washer, washer and bolt - and was accessible by only one hand. To undo this was kinda working - but to assemble it back - it was insane. On top of that, in the case of the equipment there was unused welded long sharp cheap studs everywhere. I did cut my fingers multiple times there. It took me 5 minutes to repair the problem and about 3 hours to unscrew it and screw it back.

Ive had some so froze up and the drain completely blocked / frozen that there was no choice but to get water on the ground or let it drip into a tub then drag the heavy tub somehwere to dump. I saw they make nice little washing covers for mini splits and I always wondered why they dont for evaps. Gonna be making one this weekend using a shower curtain, magnets and some 1/2 tubing. Should help out with all evaporator maintenances.
@heavydiesel
@heavydiesel 8 ай бұрын
Made one when cleaning out a coil in a beer cellar out of a tarpaulin/plastic sheet, tied it up high behind the evaporator so any water that got through the coil hit it, then funneled it into a big bucket.
@ApacheFPV
@ApacheFPV 8 ай бұрын
@@heavydiesel see ive done that and with magnets but i always lost magnets and the water still needed carried out of the cooler in a tub which is heavy af and hard on the back, im gonna try and make it a reusable solution that drains into a bucket then utilizes a pump to drain straight out of the cooler to a drain. I use mist and shower setting when defrosting so it should keep up with that amount of water. Also instead of magnets it will be a pull string tightener for the top and that should keep it hugging the evap tight enough to not slip down.

Can you go over how the system being oversized is affecting your evap td?
@FerralVideo
@FerralVideo 8 ай бұрын
Not an HVAC tech myself, but here's what I say is happening. Another way of saying "The equipment is oversized" is "the evaporator is undersized". The outdoor unit is able to shove way more cooling power into the evaporator than it's really meant to handle, which over-cools the coil and directly causes the steep T/D. The condenser "wants" a larger evap coil than it has. Since cooling power is either via T/D or via coil surface area, and we do not have coil surface area, then we end up with "all" the T/D.
