Having watched him first with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan in a Dover Lane music conference in the early 80's , Kumarji enthralled the audience with his arsenal of taal and a wonderful aspect that is his own. श्रद्धैय कुमार जी के तबले पर माँ वीणा पाणी हैं और शिवजी का ताण्डव सागर से भी गहरा वादन।स्वरस्वती पुत्र कहूँ तो कोई आतिशियोक्ति नहीं।धन्य है यह धरा जहाँ ऐंसे कलाकार ने जन्म लिया।

Pranaam to Kumu da, Umu da and family. A lovely try to catch the spirit of the legend. I got a chance to be under his tutelage for a brief period (81 -84). I learnt very little tabla but learnt what 'scale of a man' and 'sadhana' is all about. On the docu-feature, I simply loved it, but just an input: the English subtitles do not do justice to the eloquence and feel of the expression, especially Umu da's words! Thanks and regards, Subhadip Raychaudhuri. ( I hope I did not take liberties)

Great Tabla Maestro. Heard him many times with Pt. Anindo Chatterjeeji in Mumbai. His smile is similar to the Shehnai Maestro Legendary & Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan Sahebji. 👌👍🙏💐
