Definitely one of the best decisions they made. I didn’t care about dead city when it was announced but ended up really liking it, haven’t seen Dixons show yet but this show right here…I’m freaking hooked and want to know more. I didn’t even fully watch the last season of the walking dead (only breakdowns) because I wasn’t interested. THIS IS DIFFERENT FEELING IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY

I read that ep 4 was going to be "weaker" compared to other episodes, but really emotional and strong with dialogue. Danai was also the one to write it, so I'm guessing it's gonna be the one where she finally tells him about RJ and everything.

The reunion in this episode brought back that super hard hitting emotion that TWD has been missing for awhile. It was so nice to finally have tears summoned from hope and happiness again rather than just relentless sadness. It’s been so long.

I love that they gave Michonne a personal quest outside of helping Rick escape. So now she has two reasons to try and bring down the CRM if she can. One is to save Rick and herself now and second is for revenge/justice for killing her friends.

I believe that they are trying to avoid the TRAP of 'giving in to the fan's wants' with these SPINOFFs and I don't blame them. Building up a _NON KILLABLE CAST_ killed this show in my opinion. Many people stopped watching, among many other reasons, because of PLOT ARMOR. This is a 'Love Story' about Rick & Michonne. If they attempt to take over or destroy the CRM from within, it will follow the Comic version of Rick taking over the 'Commonwealth'. If that happens don't be surprised if Rick doesn't 'make it out of the CRM' since the Comic version of him was _murdered_ after he took over the Commonwealth. We won't see 'Ezekiel' have the fate since the Main show has gone off the air.

Also guys I think we saw our first variant walker in this show. When Machonne shot the arrow bomb all the walkers started going towards the sound of the blast except that one walker who kept coming towards her, that blew up and knocked her off the horse.

Technically yes and no. This walker, chronologically in terms to the story, is the first but, we actually saw the first variant in the last season of The Walking Dead. When that one walker climbed a house and grabbed a rock. 😅

God, the cinematography, the character dynamics, the lighting, the RETURN of the apocalypse’s greatest married couple! The Ones Who Live has a very strong start. It’s a shame what happened with Nat and Okafor, great writing with those two, really liked them but they did great with the time they were given. Great reaction as always, especially with catching onto stuff like the Chlorine Gas which was used on Omaha from World Beyond. “Well you said something awful was gonna happen but I didn’t have chemical warfare on the list” lol

I really enjoyed Nat’s character. I thought that actor did an incredible job! I think they had a really difficult task to be compelling enough while sharing the screen with Michonne a character we haven’t seen in a long time. And my personal favorite character of all the Walking Dead.

I just want to shout out the music in particular: the "reunion" theme has so many elements from past TWD scores: there's the finale epilogue, the moment from S7E8 Hilltop where Alexandria et al. decide that peace with the Saviors can never work, the S8E8 theme where Michonne is frantically running through a burning Alexandria looking for her family, which was later refused for S9E5 when she's running towards the bridge to try to save Rick. There might even be more elements from other moments in the show that are being used for just this theme (I'm not really a music guy), but this is ELITE level composing for TV in terms of narrative and musical recall. Basically Ramin Djawadi-level stuff.

I think that Rick and Michonnes best play is to attack the summit that will be happening. Okafor said that once they build the new crm task force location that Rick and Pearl spent that year constructing all major CRM leaders will attend the opening summit there. I think that’s their best option at a “clean escape” is to bomb that meeting. Plus most people miss it but in episode one in the park with Esteban the citizens of the CRM are beginning to protest with signs against the CRM restrictions that could be impactful too.

When I saw the ship the huge nerd in me had wished they used the SS United States which is docked in Philadelphia. But I guess it’s an old enough ship that people would be like “what is that, the Titanic?” so they went with a modern cruise liner. But the SSUS is a fascinating ship and it would have been cool if TWD could bring attention to its plight… I mean, as long as we’re using Philly as a location. In the meantime, look it up! If they only knew, how cool Nat would turn out on screen, i guarantee, they would have figured out a way to get him to sneak off and back to Alexandria after the heli crash. Maybe have a 3rd character that would have been shot instead of what happened.

Before they had an idea, of having made changes to change the series from the original ending of The Walking Dead. Let's let Rick die and Carl get the whole lead. Writers had that idea much longer ago!

This episode was epic! And the horse was caught by the couple right after I'm pretty sure. Also, Michael, I was wondering, giving that you're really into the lore of TWD, and have a love for zombie-stuff, if you have ever played "Days Gone." It's a video game by Bend Studio, it has a super-rich story, loads of killing zombies, and the lead is Sam Witwer. It doesn't seem like they were green-lit for a part 2 yet, but it so deserves it and I think it would make for an epic TV series or film one day.
