The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 18) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 20) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 22) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to KZfaq for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsing for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on KZfaq and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021. In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica album. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song... For me, Martirio is a masterwork of theirs. Only their second Spanish song. Brilliant use of motif that is passed around to each instrument, signature tom patterns by Pau, soaring vocals by Dany, brilliant bass lines by Ale, and an elegiac ending that develops the song into a new section yet still uses the earlier elements.

Amo The Warning, las descubrí de lleno el 4 de este mes cuando vinieron al Rock al Parque en Bogotá y de ahí no paro de escucharlas. Son maravillosas dentro y fuera del escenario. Gabo te super recomiendo una banda Japonesa de chicas que la están rompiendo en la escena que se llama Band-maid, estoy seguro de que te llevarás una enorme sorpresa, aparte si te gusta el protagonismo del bajo en The Warning, esta banda creo que tiene aun mas protagonismo de él en sus canciones (y como bajista me encanta) Puedes probar con su canción Manners para empezar

Nos pides una canción para analizar, pero a mí me gustaría un análisis de toda su discografia. Aún su primer disco aunque jugaron más a la segura, tiene cosas muy interesantes. Su segundo disco es muy particular. Creo que hay cosas novedosas en todas las canciones. Más porque la música al igual que la letra tenía que comunicar la historia al ser un disco conceptual. Te recomiendo escucharlo. Se llama Queen of the murder scene. De hecho esa canción sería bueno analizarla. Perdón Gabo, pero hoy reviví una gran banda de rock. Un Power trío espeluznante: Billy Sheehan en el bajo, Richie Kotzen guitarra y voz, y el único e inigualable Mike Portnoy en batería y coros... un power trío de la conc... de la madre!!! Con todas las letras!!! Y mayúsculas... Hace nada sacaron un corte del que será, supongo, su tercer trabajo de estudio, Xanadu. Tiempos de 5/4 en un rock clásico, cosas del progresivo en una banda de temas de rock. Deberías pegarle una ojeada. Abrazo grande, y aunque no tenga nada que ver, menos por el trascurso del tiempo, hoy los volví a escuchar, y no podía dejar de recomendártelos. Siempre hay algo nuevo que escuchar, y así como aprendo de vos en cada video, me gusta compartir mi poco conocimiento con la gente que sabe, para que conozca algo nuevo más. Como con Miku Kobato y su baracutanga, (Misa, Mincho, Kanami y Saiki) estas hermanas me hacen pensar que las mujeres salvarán el Rock. Ya estaba entregado al queipop femenino (...y solo femenino) cuando se me atravesó el live oficial de "Freedom", en plena pandemia. Casi me pongo a llorar, honestamente. Resulta que hay minas que hacen rock muy bien y se divierten en el proceso. Pero no están enojadas, y se ríen con la gente mientras hacen musica pesada en vivo, que locas de mierda. Y no se sexualizan y no tienen una empresa atrás, como todo en Japón, y encima escriben y componen lo que quieren. Y aparecen, merced al puto algoritmo, supongo, Las Villareal en un Tedex con su "Survive". Ya es un viaje sin vuelta y me alegro de ver todo esto suceder, aunque sea de lejos. Crea que las mejicanas se merecen al " Best crowd in the world", el Luna o Núñez pero al público argento, el mejor. Si sucede, yo cruzo el charquito a representar a la provincia rebelde y disfrutar el rock más fresco y honesto que viene quedando. Saludos desde Montevideo.

I don't speak Spanish, but I did read the video caption. It is 7/4 NOT 7/8. I've played drums since I was 8 years old. The song is in 4/4, then it goes to 7/4 during the riff. Music rarely, if ever changes like that when simple dropping a beat in a measure without changing anything else. You don't go from the quarter note having one beat to an eight note getting one beat for no reason, in the middle of a song. If you show me the sheet music to prove me wrong, I will believe you. But, until then, it's 7/4. (BTW, I know Pau once said 7/8, but without seeing the sheet music, that sounds wrong). edit: Sorry, I did not mean angry tone.

Interesante música, entré por el anuncio del 7/8 pero me decepcionó un poco, sin escatimar la pieza entera que es contundente. Como intuirás soy un cazador de canciones con métricas no muy comunes pero sin que sean circenses. Te invitaría a que explores el primer disco de Dutch Uncles (en particular Doppelgänger, aunque Face In sea más para tu público) o Flexxin solo para ver bailar al duncan. Un saludo y gracias por el contenido de lujo. PD. Dutch Uncles vuelve a escenarios el próximo año luego de casi 5 años de silencio, aunque el bajista ha escrito piezas hermosas como solista.
