my friend is actually running a campaign based on a reworked version of the warriors adventure game. it's been fun! the og was a mess,so we just used the plotlines and worked with a different version of the mechanics

I remember reading these at the back of my books, I never had anyone to play it with so I just read the stories. I would love to do a warrior cats campaign tho, I find it a lot easier to care about battle cats than whatever is going with dnd

This reminds me of when Moonkitti and a small group of friends played a modified version of this. I can’t remember everyone involved and I can’t find the videos (they were not posted on Moonkitti’s account) but I really enjoyed watching and it gave a lot of potential. I also can’t remember if Moonkitti was in all of the videos or in only 1-2.

I remember LOVING reading these little things in the back of Omen of the Stars! They were just fascinating to me, even if I didn't have anyone to actually play with. In fact... I should go read them again sometime. It's been a while.

I'm running a campaign of the different adventures in the books right now and I'm half tempted to send this video to our group chat so they can see just how much of the mechanics I changed. At the same time though, I don't want them to spoil anything upcoming lol. I found how the game was structured really limiting as well and as an avid D&D player I took some pages out of those books. Some things I did: -Of course removed the multiple narrators because this is my campaign -Scrapped the chips, replaced them with dice rolls -Assigned different dice for different attacks (d4 for swat etc.) -Actively ignore the losing solutions for my players and instead if they end up there, I improvise a new scenario based on notes I took -Adjust the hell out of the enemy encounters because when switching to dice rolls they become incredibly unbalanced -Replaced canon characters with all of my own characters so that way I can build up to my original adventure we'll be going on once we get through the books -Instead of spending chips for knacks (because there are no chips) I treat them like spell slots -Also not a mechanic change but since there was a big time skip between saving the kits (where the players were apprentices) and Fever Dreams (Where they're warriors, which I made 12 moons instead of 10) I asked the players if they wanted apprentices! 4/5 said yes so I made sure they got the kits they saved. -I also adjust random story elements to fit the sort of story I'm trying to tell as well.

Could they not call it C&C for Cats and Clans? Sounds like their own version of D&D anyway.

I played this game, too! This is how I got my sisters into Roleplaying games. I wasn’t a fan of some of the mechanics, but it was still fun!

My experience of the Warrior's Adventure Game was soured... The first time I tried to run an adventure with it, one of the players turned out to be an annoying troll and constantly had his cat try to do things like sneak up on standing, awake humans and claw their throats, or to hotwire cars. He often convinced the more reasonable players that his trolling ideas were the best coarse of action, and it caused the very first session to devolve into unplayable chaos. >:/

They really need to revamp this and make it actually good. It'd probably get much more of an audience nowadays.

i'm in a group that was formed based on the original game with more dnd-like mechanics (it ended up being dubbed w&c for that reason, lol) and we've run through a couple of the og campaigns, it's def more fun once you modify the game. it's a good way for people who've never played dnd to get into games like dnd and the rest. we've also taken muddyclaw as an official starclan character for our version of the lore and he's the most beloved ever.

all of these adventures would be sooo good if the game was built on random chance and opened to more creativity.

oh yeah i loved reading these a lot, i think i only played it once with my parents? i loved going through them and seeing what interesting adventure would be involved. I've been raised around tabletop games my entire life, so these were a real treat for me even if they weren't the best out there

They have cats become warriors at 10 moon?? Thats 4 moons of training! (I cant be the only one that thinks the average apprenticeship is 6 moons long)

I remember always wanting to play this when I was younger - I even made characters and chips to use - but I didn’t have anyone to play it with so I just read through them like choose-your-own-adventure books

I actually played three of the adventure games. I truely haven't ever been so attached to a character or story

Tbh, it's a good way to introduce kids to table top rps. While it's not exactly like dnd, I won't lie dnd is complicated, even for adults(im 24 and still confused if I should roll for initiative or perception). It's a good introduction to table top rping games. Its kinda like letting a kid play arcade games before letting them do open world fighting games. It gives them the idea of the fundamentals: creating a character, planning how to use the character, and how your characters choices effect a game play! If reworked and homebrewrd, I think there could be a TON of fun adventures! One idea that came to mind is making a party of rogues/kittypets who must journey far to create a clan, gain followers,and finally defeat a big bad

I loved flipping through this looking through it like a choose your own adventure book kinda without any of the game aspects because i had no one to play with lol Edit- I commented this before i watched the video haha the choose your own adventure was mentioned in the video

I only played the one with the fox cubs, but I remember thinking it was cool that we got to help the foxes out instead of them just being antagonists.

I also read through the adventure game when I was little. It was definitely an experience!

Oh boy I remember these weird little adventure games- I got the Omen of the Stars arc (aka my first Warriors books) for my 9th birthday and I initially spent more of my time going through the adventure games on the back instead of the actual books. I never even played the games- I just found the stories and settings very intriguing

i actually made a version of the warrior adventure game mixed with dnd elements for campaign running! i created a full mechanical guide for it and everything and am currently reworking said documents for official public sourcing and release! this video came out at a really funny and convenient time ahaha

oh hey i remember that! 10 year old me was so confused about how the game worked. i tried to play it with my sister but i couldnt figure it out because 1. i didnt have a full grasp on english yet, and 2. my sister was like 6.

I have looked at rescue the kits & fever few a few times and watched videos about this game. My idea is that a lack of randomness holds this game back. My idea is to add a normal dice or a “D6” AT THE LEAST to add some randomness to the game. AT SIMPLEST being: - 1 & 2 being a slight negative to your stat. - 3 & 4 being normal. - 5 & 6 being a slight positive to your stat. But each set is the same. So a 1 & 2 is the exact same thing. Or 1 = -2 2 = -1 3 = 0 4 = +1 5= +2 6= +3 A bit in player favor over all to promote success and less use of those coins. BUT ALSO include the ability to use the coins to cover for bad rolls or add to good ones. Also possibly that a bigger dice may be more random/interesting?? Who knows. My last idea was: Apprentices get a D6 Young Warriors get a D12 Senior Warriors get a D20 But idk much about balancing so it may break the game or really serve no purpose making the dice bigger??

I got into warriors two years ago (I'm an adult btw so it's honestly kinda hilarious) and the moment I found out about the adventure game I was obsessed. It sucks. It's such a badly built game. I'm reworking it sorta kinda, but my reworking has basically become its own new thing *shrug*
