Fallon Sherrock stands up for Noa-Lynn van Leuven and admits it turned nasty at the last Women's Series as the Queen of the Palace says Noa's well-being needs to be put first " I'll be honest it wasn't a great atmosphere to be in. I think the way it's been done is absolutely appalling, I think there's ways of doing it and people have gone completely the wrong way about it and it's turned nasty and it should never have turned nasty."

There shouldn't be abuse thrown at Noa. But there shouldn't be silence or blanket "acceptance" on the situation either. Fallon, despite her excellent work ethic, is making good money from darts, a lot of females can barely afford to play it. It's easy to have the opinion Fallon does when you're in such a relatively privileged position compared to the other ladies. Their grievances shouldn't just be ignored.

@@stevenwileman2443 You're missing the point. I said she had excellent work ethic. As do all the ladies who have to travel miles in beat up cars, alone, with little to no management and come away from tournaments with less money than they came with. There are very few women darts players making a good living from the sport, so for one (and possibly more) of these spots to be taken up by non biological women is cause for (at least) discussion. And most people agreed Fallon has experienced priviledge, eg her inclusion in big PDC events/world series. She had massive backing from sky and the PDC (eg allowing her to go to the worlds through the Matchplay after she failed to qualify, would they have they done that for anyone else? hmm). You can work hard AND have privilege. Most people work hard. You're saying those other ladies don't graft? Ask them.

@@thadonis. you made the point she was privileged. That is factually incorrect and has nothing to do with what your now backtracking on. Be honest, she is not priveledged and she is entitled to her view. Don't change the narrative now. Noa in female darts is a different point to your original.

Mens tournaments are technically opens. Womens tournaments were created specifically for females. Anyone else can play in the mens, not an issue.

@@EgoChip the 'mens' event is technically an open category, and AFAIK women have always been allowed in if good enough, it's just that very few are. women's event's ain't there to support lower standard men who can't make it otherwise. GL

Disappointed to hear Fallon go down this path. She has taken the cowards approach, just to avoid being cancelled by sponsors. There is no place for men in the women's series

A lot of this comes down to definitions. How you define male and female is different to how men and women are defined. There is plenty of interesting science out there and I would encourage you to look into it more.

it won't affect fallon as much as some of the more rank and file women who may be pushed down the prize list by a man for a comparatively small prize pool anyway, she aint thinking about them IMHO

Interesting to hear what her opinion would be if it were a case of 10 trans top players suddenly turning up and winning as opposed to just 1. Could this potentially happen in the future with the attraction of improved prize money? How would the womens game look then?

Fallon is a joke here. Shes not the one with her spot being taken in tournaments but the woman ranked 9 or 17th or 33rd because of this woman is. Women get spaces in the pdc worlds which Fallon has benefited from image if more and more identify as women the womens game would be a joke and force out more girls whow want to get into darts because of beau and fallon

It's great to hear that Fallon has been offering support to Noa Lynn. What people don't seem to understand is that Noa Lynn has broken no rules. The current PDC rules allow trans females to play the women's series. If you don't like it, direct your anger to the PDC, not to Noa Lynn. The abuse she's getting at the moment is horrible.

Strength etc is not an issue in darts, just like pub darts, or county, what is wrong with different leagues based on ability, not on gender.

@@ironknobsteelworks4063 Because generally women cant make a career out of it. Bc even in the womens series there is hardly any prize money. Therr are a lot less women in darts, meaning that there will be a lot of women throwing poor averages. Even top male players start playing worse when against bad opponents. When women throw a 100 average, they will nearly always win the match. At the mens its nearly the norm. Women generally dont have to up their level bc they can win with an 80 average.

Fallon has always shown a high degree of professionalism and maturity in interviews. She is right... the issue with Noa-Lynn can be debated over, to find the fairest possible solution for everyone involved... but in doing so... hate towards Noa-Lynn is not justified regardless of your position on Noa-Lynn's playing status etc. Unfortunately.. people have used this situation to spew out their bigotry. Their position, I believe, has very little (if anything) to do with darts. Good on Fallon to check in on Noa-Lynn (not surprised Fallon did that, tbh) and support her at that moment and now. Noa-Lynn, as a human being, needs that support to absorb the abuse from the bigots.

It does no one any harm to refer to trans women as women, it causes real pain and does real harm to refer to trans women as men. Why are people looking for a fight over these terms? Why aren't we just trying to help people that are going through something difficult? Some people have genuine concerns about competitive advantages trans women may or may not have, and people are trying to figure that out, nothing is permanently resolved yet, but there is NO reason for cruelty to be part of that conversation.

@Bob-ts2tu Issues of competitive advantage are complicated, scientists, researchers, and the governing bodies of different sports are still trying to sort things out. I'm content to let them work it out, and it's probably going to take some time. In the meantime, it does no one anywhere any harm to call trans women, women. It causes real pain and harm to refer to trans women as men. You can express your concerns about competitive advantage without hurting anyone.
