MANGA SPOILER!!! DONT READ AHEAD IF YOU DONT WANT THE MANGA TO BE SPOILED: Bokuto does lose his emo mode. In this tournament in one of the later matches, when the team is down, he suddenly lets go of his emo mode, deciding that as the team's ace(and this being his last year in high-school) he needs to step up for the team. The team has always pushed him up, now it's his turn to push them up. He ends up going full power for the rest of the tournament, and Fukurodani makes it to the final. As for Ushijima, both of them become pros eventually. Haikyuu never went too much into the professional world and all that, but we do get a few matches, and from what we can see, both Bokuto and Ushijima massively improve themselves by keeping their strengths and getting rid of their weaknesses, becoming world-class spikers playing for some of the best teams, and also being like the two heavy-hitters of the Japanese National Team (Heavy-Hitters in terms of pure power).

If he had not his emo mode he would have been in the top 3 so easily

@@assmal.547 Bokuto post timeskip is equivalent to the top 3 ace sometimes even surpasses them

But I guessed number 3 or 4 it doesn't matter to much. When bokuto was against kiryuu they both were equal.
