The wall not having gypsum board or at least some sort of moisture/noise protection is not up to code and Marlon could have gotten out of the lease or force the property managers to fix said issues by filing a complaint with through the dept of housing.

Its all good because in newyork tenants can void a lease if living conditions are sub par. Mold in the fridge means the landlord has to replace it. Broken toilet also..The filthy water might be a city issue but all tenants are still entitled to safe clean water.

The fact that Marlon even got his own apartment in New York (super expensive to live there) is a feat and is sooooo TV. *He worked a below minimum wage job for Shawn, his acting gigs had dried up by this point in season 4 (remember the shit he pulled at that play with Keith Sweat and Thea?), and I bet he spent up all that money he made working as that fake pirate for them kids (season 4, episode 1).* The only thing I can think of in how he got that apartment is all of them years he didn't pay rent to Shawn (a running joke throughout the show's five-year run) which enabled him to save his money.

There was a clip when Marion made his 1st appearance on "Everybody Loves Everybody" here on KZfaq. At the end Pops said, "White People Laugh At Anything". Someone commented on that clip. And then, another person answered back and said, "They sure do. Friends was on for 10 years". That comment started a discussion on why white sitcoms like Friends, Seinfeld, and Everybody Loves Raymond that aren't laugh out loud funny last 8, 9, or 10 years. And, why do black sitcoms like The Wayans Bros., Martin, and In Living Color which are sooooo much funnier last 5 years or less.
