It’s the backwash that easies the severity of the break and adds to its size. If it was a completely flat beach it would be a completely different break.

Torontoskate7 the wedge is a very dangerous shore break wave! When you fall or pull into a big barrel you don’t want to be attached to your board so it doesn’t hit you
