For those who think that the scream comes from a girl in the audience: 1. Wear headphones, it is clear that the sound is coming from the speakers. 2. There is another perspective of this concert. It’s uploaded by the channel 6ixBucksTV (literally the second result if you search for „the weeknd sxsw“ on youtube) and this video shows the whole performance, not just the first half. And the second drop has the EXACT SAME scream again, which is proof that it's already in the song.

@@thePXRTY Basically, there’s a quick vid out there that went viral saying that in this video, during this concert, it’s all a leak to The Hills. The Weeknd caught on to the this video leaking the song and he kept the scream from the video that wasn’t supposed to be in the original version of the song. Or some girl remade the scream. But Idk if this is true.

@@thePXRTY no what he’s saying is that the original version had no scream but during this leaked preview of the song some random girl screamed (not planned). When it leaked to sound cloud and blew up, the weekend decided to add the scream into the final version.

The scream sound soo raw in this version and it gives a nice strong oomph to the track. The finished version sounds very synthetic almost like a squealing belt under your hood or screeching metal. Not saying it's bad but it just doesn't have the same feel as an actual vocalized scream. Still wonder who did it cuz damn that's gotta be a record high note
