I think Cleveland has nailed the style with the Launcher Halo irons, they are more progressively shaped through the set so you get closer to a traditional iron with shorter clubs moving into more hybrid shape for the longer clubs. I'd like to see you use those vs using those flashy cheapies😂

Ive had a set of Wazakis for around four years Itried to convert back to normal irons and make all sorts of corrections to my swing path. Ive ended up going back to my wazaki's to be nore consistent and the distance. Like Rick states, I use these alongside a set of lofted wedges and leave the sand wedge behind. They do wear but still okay performance wise.

I use the Cleveland HALO hybrid iron set. They’ve really helped me find my swing and I'll probably go to a more traditional style of irons in the future; but even I knew to keep a couple of wedges in my bag for the close work. I'd have no faith in myself with a sand wedge hybrid.

Well be retired, I have both several hybrids and an all woods set to play my rounds with. I really enjoy the all woods set from Thomas golf. Got them several years ago and really didn't change/effect my score at all and shoot pretty good with them. It is kind of funny to be shooting with a 19 or 23 wood but they are so easy to hit. Take care.

Interesting looking clubs. The old Alien Sand Wedge irons have a really wide and flat sole like that SW hybrid so the design is similar in performance, just don't need as much of a back swing to get out of a bunker or rough. Good review, especially for high handicap and older golfers.

In an Augusta golf bag...probably...but not the first to play a full set of hybrids. Been using mine for over 6 months now and love them. Mine are not Wazaki but are i-Drive Hybrid Heads. I built the clubs myself (been building/repairing clubs for more then 30 yrs) using FGS Vision Iron Shafts from Diamond Tour Golf. I'm 65 yrs old and lost over 15 yrds using my irons, as well as control, until I changed to these. I have recovered the 15 yds and am pin seeking now. They are much easier to hit than irons. Love my "Lob" wedge. Hit it as long as my old Approach wedge. I am enjoying your videos from South Carolina in the US. Keep up the good work.

I’ve used the Adams Idea Tech hybrid irons for 2 years. I’m 69 and my iron play was suffering. I found these in a used club store. I payed $230.00. They are 3-5 traditional hybrids and 6-pw+gw hollow back irons. They fly high, stop well, and are pretty easy to hit. My iron game is the best I’ve ever had. My scoring suffers because of old guy distance loss. I actually don’t use the 4-6 hybrids. I use a 5,7, and 9 wood. My next move is sadly, moving up a tee. I don’t mind playing worse, because my mates still put up with me.

Got a set of the Eleven hybrid 5-PW as my speed is done due to age and mobility issues; take a few rounds to get used to basically cheat sticks a low strike still pops up nicely. Rick, I’m an ‘experienced’ (senior), higher handicap golfer. I replaced my irons (4 to 9) with Callaway hybrids this summer and they’ve made a difference in my game. Though I’m still learning how to hit them, they have added a few yards over my irons. I even use them off the tee on tight fairways, helped par a couple par 5’s. Lowered my handicap by about 5 so far this season. Much easier to hit than the irons, better on the fairway then my woods. So far no regrets. Looks like the construction of the Callaway is better than the Wazaki. Enjoy all your lessons, learning a lot, keep them coming. From Northern Alberta,

I carry the 9 iron and pitching wedge in irons, dropped the 2 hybrid and have my driver and putter. The distance is 2 clubs for me. Sometimes I play the odds in hybrids a driver and 3 wood, my wedges with the putter. A versatile bag. Lazrus hybrids about $300 for the set. Very forgiving and easy distance. Get the silver and black, they don’t show the scratches.

Retired playing due to arthritis years ago. I have a set 7-15 hybrids, regular sand wedge for chipping and 5 wood hooded over for driving. One year between practicing more than I ever had and using those clubs I played the best time of my golf life. Those clubs sent the ball high! Get the feel for the right club distance and the ball would fall from the sky staying on the greens. I had been playing in 90's but shot in the 80's with eight rounds at 80 even. Some of those courses were difficult. Pretty dramatic change! If upcoming surgery allows me to play again I'd buy the hybrids again.

I am a life long golfer that just recently went with a full set of hybrids and I am never going back. I play a driver, 2-PW hybrids and 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges. I carry no woods (other than driver) and my wedges are the only irons. I'm hitting it longer by 2 clubs at least, higher, straighter and much more consistently. They are so much easier to hit off the tee, out of the rough and off the fairway. It took a few weeks to get the feel for them, but now I love them. One thing I had to adjust to was the increase in distance. With the hybrid PW, for example, I now hit the ball 130-150 yds. with a full swing. With my iron PW I was getting maybe 110 tops out of it with a really good strike. I have found the hybrids almost impossible to slice, difficult to fade and pretty easy to hit straight, a draw, or a hook. Game changers for me. For reference, I am 69 years old. My driver distance has dropped to 210 to 240 yards so the increase in distance with these hybrids really helps offset that loss. Don't be swayed by the stigma around hybrids. Give them a try for a few weeks and I think you will see what I mean. BTW, the 2 hybrid is probably the easiest one in the set to hit. Can that be said about a 2 iron? Nope.

Do it, Rick! Give them a chance. Last winter, I bought a set (3-PW) of Majek senior hybrids. Amazon had them for $349. I have been using them since our course opened in May, and it took me a while to get used to them. Lately, I have been hitting them great. I was surprised how well the pitching wedge works. The only thing that I am envious of in the Wazaki set is the covers. The Majeks come with knit head covers and they are a pain to put on. I use them though because I saw some reviews of the clubs that said they get dinged up pretty badly if you don't use them. If you don't care for them, find a senior golfer and let them try them out for a while.

I’m glad your able to review these. I don’t like this particular set because of the color etc. I have a set of the black Wasaki hybrids and much better to look at. After a stroke these were very helpful to me. My ego made me go with more traditional irons after my recovery. I’m keeping the Wasakis hybrids around just in case I need them in the future. I have tried most Super Game Improvement irons and the Wasaki are better. By the way, I could not keep the head covers on while playing. They were made the bag look silly. I do feel you “pros” should be able to play with anything… but egos get in the way with pros too! Hope to you try this out on the course for fun.

I can hit a 3-4 iron but the hybrid feels like a mini wood and gives me that confidence on the long shots. The set I have came with a three and four hybrid. I miss having a 4 iron but I just hit my 4 hybrid so well and so clean I don’t want to get rid of it. My 4 hybrid hits 195-205. My 3 hybrid goes 210-230 and now I find myself dropping the 3 & 5 wood for a HL 3 wood. This gives me an extra wedge at the bottom. There are definitely times where I wish I could do a hooded 4 iron but have to settle for using a 5. However I use the 4 hybrid from the fairway or on short 3’s and I love the extra height on it. My real conundrum right now is my wedges. I want to fit a lob wedge in but I’m not sure which club to take out. I have a sand, gap, approach, and pitching wedge. They all have lower lofts that makes so I almost never use my 9 iron. I only pull it out in the high 130’s but I’d rather hit a soft 8 when I hit the 140’s. I’m seriously considering dropping it for a lob wedge.

Have been using a set of Rife (American Golf own brand) RX4 hybrid irons for almost a year now, as a 70 year old I was struggling with conventional irons, the RX4s look takes some getting used to but they have helped my game, slightly cheaper at £299 for 4-SW, got the closest to an ace that I've had in over 50 years, put the 5 iron to 15" on a 159yd par 3 about a month ago. Only club I don't like is the SW, because it has zero bounce, it fine for chipping but very unpredictable out of bunkers, have an old lob wedge with lots of bounce for bunkers.

Absolutely loved them and they made me competitive for the skill level I was at back then. There are a number of benefits to them but you have to drop the mindset that they aren't a blade and not going to swing, feel or play like a blade. When I started playing I bought every crazy infomercial golf club I saw. Some of them were great, some weren't. But 20 years later I still have and use the "Perfect Club" hybrid. My favorite old weird club

I at one point considered getting an all hybrid iron set. I ended up with 2- 5 hybrids, and the rest irons/wedges. That seems to be good for me.

I've got a full set of Lazrus clubs, and it's got hybrids for 3 through PW. I grabbed them after not playing for 25 years and I'm hitting these better after just a month or two of messing around than I hit my irons back when I played frequently. You noted the weakness in rough around the green, and yeah, I do have their 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges to make up for that.

I play with a full set of Wazaki hybrids originally because I couldn't hit a long iron (4/5 even 6) much further than the 7. They definitely add distance but I agree they only help with full swing shots. I now keep a 'traditional' 8 PW and SW for half swing delicate type shots. I like them and doubt I could play without them now.

I have the pinemeadow ones that look just like these and I love them. I bought 4 other "forgiving" sets and none of them compared. My buddies joke with me but I average less than 85 and consistently hit 40 on 9. I added a lob wedge and 5 wood to the set.

I really liked last year's Callaway Rogue driver, so I worked my way down the clubs replacing everything with the Callaway Rogue version of the club, from the fairway wood all the way to the 8 hybrid. The only irons in my bag now are an 8 (it hits about 10 yards short of the 8 hybrid), 9, P, 48 degree and a 56 degree. I've dropped four strokes off my handicap since I made the switch. Other variables may have played into that improvement, not just the clubs.

Interesting, I could see these being useful for a few different types of player; older, new to the game, player with an injury or disability, almost worth the time to match them up against the Cleveland Launcher hybrid irons for a video on the H.I.T channel.

My dad uses the Adams hybrid set and added a sw, lw, driver and 4 wood. It’s made golf easier for him because he used to shank irons. He’s a 12-14 handicap and loves his hybrid set so there’s a golf set for everyone I guess!

My dad bought a set of Spaulding Executive XEs back in the 80’s, same concept. Huge bubble back. He couldn’t hit them so he bought a set of Pings. My father in law bought the same Spaulding and same result. The Florida salt air corroded the inside of the steel shaft to the point where he hit a 5 iron off the tee and the club head went farther than the ball.

Great video Rick. You definitely need to dial in your yardages before you do the Break 75. I’ve added a 9 wood, 6 hybrid & Ping ChipR to my bag recently. I’m playing much better golf because I have pushed aside my ego and found what actually works for me. I just smile when I hear… “Wow, that’s a lot of head covers!”

I carry a 3, 4, and 5 hybrids in my bag, as well as an old Ginty trouble wood, which can get you out of all but the gnarliest US Open style rough. The hybrids are so much easier to hit than the equivalent iron. For senior golfers hybrids are a no-brainer!

I've seen full hybrid sets before and they are a pretty neat concept! You can see why too as they just seem to pop the ball up from anywhere. Even in the bunker. But this set's SW is no SW loft and I could tell just by looking at it, lol! I checked and it's at 46 degrees of loft. But there are hybrids in actual wedge lofts if needed out there. Sadly non-bare-metal finishes always seem to have that finish wear issue which is why I generally don't favor those. But there's many hybrid sets out there with said bare metal.

As a 75 year old senior with a 10.8 index, I do play a set of Eleven hybrids (Sub70 UK) 5-PW. I carry no fairway woods, My 18* and 21* hybrids are Callaway Epic Super. My driver is Krank 12*. I totally agree that the hybrids are not good for chipping and pitching, so I do carry a Ping ChioR and my custom specialty (normal) wedges at 48*, 52* and 56*. From what we denote as senior tees, I can break 80 consistently. Recently shot a -3 (69j but that was an anomaly. For slower swinging players, an all hybrid set instead of irons will work.
