In this video we go over the craziest special edition cars ever made. From the Trans Am to the Lincoln town car, we count them down. Do you have a special edition that we didn't cover? Leave us your comments.
Chevrolet produced the Spirit of America Nova in anticipation of the United States bicentennial in 1976. In 1974, approximately 20% of Novas came with the Spirit of America package. However, only 14,463 Spirit of America Novas were built in 1974, while roughly 390,537 Novas were built that year.
In 1982, Lincoln-Mercury Division became the exclusive automotive sponsor for TV coverage of 17 Professional Golfers’ Association tournaments. By 1992, Lincoln-Mercury Division was the title sponsor of the “Lincoln-Mercury Kapala International” golf tournament. It should probably come as no surprise, then, that in the fall of 1991, Lincoln offered a 1991 Jack Nicklaus Edition Town Car.

I wanted to buy one of them used, back in 78. A local mechanic, in my neighborhood, had it for sale. The car, was just black, .. but the interior, was this striped, multiple colors. I didn't have the 1K to buy it. It was hella cool! It was the only one I've ever seen. There were a lot of cars, with limited edition. Good luck in finding any.

* My buddy bought a used one of those Levi Gremlin X's in 1975. It was no joke ! It had a 304 V8 4 barrel he put headers on and a KN air filter. It ran pretty much the same as a Mustang and was fun to do burnouts in. And you couldn't leave roach burns in those seats ! 😤 We used to deliver newspapers with it in the afternoons after school. I remember sitting in one of those 81 Imperials at the Autoshow in 81. That was a nice car. Unfortunately they disappeared fast. Another buddy of mine bought a used one of those McLaren Mustangs. It was great. First 4 cylinder turbo I ever saw. Never saw another and it was fast for the day. Light and cornered a lot better then a V8 one. He ended up trading it for a 1970 Boss 302 stang. Which I thought wasn't as much fun. Either car would be worth some bucks these days ! Here in Detroit those Daytonas and Superbirds just sat on dealer's lots. They were heavy and slower then the 440 6pack Roadrunners, Hemi Challengers & Cudas so nobody bought em. That Superbird was really silly looking with it's vinyl roof. Trans Ams were great looking cars but only really fast in 1970 with the 455SD . After that they were heavy sleds. 👊😎👍

Good Morning 🙂, when you stared as a mechanic, what were you staring at? I've had some trucks and other vehicles catch my stare. Out on the street in Buenos Aires I saw parked, a Desoto pick-up truck. And I saw vehicles in other parts of the world I never heard of. If I could get a few million $$$, I would go around the world and collect some of those interesting cars / trucks. Instead of just collecting the photos of them.

5:04 There is a lot behind that wing! Back when NASCAR used production cars as the template for the race cars (back then call ‘Stock Car Racing’) the race teams wanted a wing for rear downforce at high speeds. The original design was much shorter but it was deemed that the trunk had to open on the production model so the raised the wing enough for the trunk to open & it turned out great on the racetrack.
