One of my favorite stores, I was there today. It's a big hardware store that competes with Lowes and Home Depot, but also has a few aisles of groceries.

I have 2 pair. The radio is ok but the Bluetooth is ho hum. I normally just put in Bluetooth earbuds then put on my Howard light sportsmans when I'm on the tractor or mowing. Yes I'm one of those that uses hearing protection on my mower. I have a diesel zero turn and mow 5 acres when I mow.

One is opening in March in my town. It says they start at $16-$18 per hour. I already applied, I live in KY, min wage is still $7.25/hr. Most jobs start at $12ish, manager positions $16ish.

Fun fact Menards sponsors like four or five in NASCAR and it's even the title sponsor for the ARCA series. One of their drivers Ryan Blaney won the Cup championship last year.

As a proud midwesterner, I have a lot of fond memories at Menards. I love the nonsensical mix of things they sell. My dad would take me there as a kid to keep me occupied. Now, as a college student I live walking distance from one and I got on a near weekly basis.

Menards is the best hardware store because they have tons of crazy random crap. You go in to buy a plumbing kit and you come out with snacks, a board game, 80's Mario cartoon on dvd, dice for your DnD game and shampoo...having completely forgotten why you went there in the first place. Yet you leave happy...

Menards is a Wisconsin-based chain of super-center-sized hardware stores. Their stores are typically larger than Home Depot stores, and they sell a larger variety of products. You can buy lumber, stones, bricks, lawnmowers, any type of plumbing supplies, any type of paint products, etc... Menards stores generally do extremely well in the sales department, even when Lowes and Home Depot stores are around. Most people will choose Menards over Home Depot or Lowes when given the choice. Menards is now located in 15 states across the Midwest. But, they have their roots in Wisconsin. Ace Hardware, by the way, is another Midwest chain headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Illinois. 🔨🪚🔧🪛

I live in central WI. Menards is a staple. Love it. I just bought some fluorescent bulbs, degreaser, random nuts & bolts, and a toilet snake. But I'm not about to buy my tech from there. Also, it's Meh-Nards, NOT Mee-Nards.

The problem with this episode is you didn’t really experience what Menard’s really is. The craziest one I’be been to is 1700 Hanley Rd in St. Louis, MO, but there is an entire reddit that has a list of the two story stores.
